No one truly knows where Dragonbloods came from, but it is said that the first reports of them was from at least three thousand years before the Viking era. Old texts (and the twins book) document one of the first reports, somewhere to the west of Berk. They say that on one full moon night, a child of around thirteen suddenly fell to the ground and changed, Shifting to a one of the feared monsters the tribe fought against.  In terror the Chief snatched an axe and ran at the small dragon, only to be thrown aside by a larger beast. The mother dragon, for that is what she seemed to be, carried away the young one and called out. In the midst of the tribe a few people changed and took flight, also becoming dragons.
They were not seen again after that, but a few tribespeople were trailed on the next full moon and were found to be Dragonbloods.
Two myths arose from these encounters. That of the Dragonbloods and that of the Lycanwings.
