The boy across the hall

Chapter 1

Allow me to explain how I even ended up living with the highly known Kio Cyr.
My brother, Bryce Hall moved to Los Angeles to live with these boys he became friends with on an app.
He made me move with him. Due to circumstances we arrived early. The house was not set to be ready for another few weeks.
Leaving us with only one choice, stay in a hotel and Bryce waisted zero time getting me enrolled in school.

Today was the first day at my new school. I only have to complete two more weeks before I can graduate. High school used to be a beautiful, safe place but in a matter of human, one moment, it changes everything.

"BELLA!! Get up, You're gonna be late" My brother said as he shook me awake.
     "5 more minutes" I said as I pulled the covers over my head. He grabbed the blankets and threw them off the bed. I got up, showered then put on the school uniform

"Let's go" My brother said once I was ready.
    We arrived at the school. Females and Males filed into the doors, laughing with the friends. Some tripping over each other. Everyone blends in together.

I leaned against my locker. My phone was bright in my hand as I scrolled through instagram post of the people from my old school.

Something had caused me to look up and when I did there was a boy and his friend looking at like fresh meat, hunting me like their prey.

Bryce words were burned into my brain, on repeat 'You have no time for friends Bella. Graduate, leave.'

I had promised to not interact with anyone, to be alone basically. For an odd reason, within a second of making eye contact with the boy, I wanted him to come over to me. I wanted to know his name. I wanted to know him.

"You must be the new student," He said to me as he leaned against the locker next to mine.

I looked at him and closed my locker "I'm Bella Hall" I said. He let out a small laugh and just looked at me "And what's your name?" I asked him.

"I am Kio Cyr" He stopped leaning on the locker and just looked at me with a look I'm sure millions of girls have fallen weak to.

"Where were you before this?"
Don't say it. There's the question Bryce told me everyone would ask, the question to never answer.

"I have to head to class" I didn't smile, instead just clenched my books and walked past him.

The day surpassed me. The first day was finally over. The smell of the fresh air, everyone bumping into each other on the steps just trying to get down them in a hurry.

"New Girl" Kio.
"Let me take you home." He was somehow already standing beside me, his hands clenched into the straps of his bag.

Just in the moment my phone went off. I had wished it was Bryce texting here but instead, he bailed.

"Come on, I won't bite" I wanted to say no, but I had to say yes. "Promise."

"Fine. Lets go"
I followed him to his car. He opened the passenger door, held it until I got in and closed it before running to the driver side.

"Don't you need my address" The car ride had been silent for about 5 - 10 minutes. There was no sound, not even the radio.

"You aren't going home just yet Ms, Hall" He focused on the road and took a left "I'm not going to kill you, just trust me"

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

"On a little adventure" He said and I could clearly hear the smile wanting to come out. "Just relax Bell" the road was deserted, he pressed the gas, speeding up to the 90.
