A Day To Remember

Maihua P.O.V.

Her voice was so beautiful I promise you it'll be stuck in my head she was singing B.ORN THIS WAY BY LADY GAGA. Gaonha was filming her sing when she was done Gaonha and I slid out from hiding and stood in the back when she looked up and saw us smiling at her. Her eyes welled up with tears she started to cough she put her head in her hands sobbing happily. Everyone turned to face us and gasped we walked to the front she stood up and I pulled her in a hug she cried on my shoulder I whispered in her ear "you are so strong, brave, beautiful, and that voice is amazing." Someone says "Shelby honey it's time for Kay you can bring your friends!" She pulls away and looks at me sadly she starts to walk away I stop her grab her hand and walk with her while Gaonha holds a bag of all her gifts Shelby says "Maihua honestly you don't know how much this means to me we go to what I guess is her room she sits in the roll away bed the doctor goes to attach her iv I quickly sit beside her and say "you don't have to do this alone not today." They started the iv and she just layer back I put my arm around her and rub her shoulder she leans into me I could feel her becoming weak Gaonha says "Shelby um thank you for inviting us in Maihua chose some gifts for you would you like to open them?" She says "oh gosh yall really didn't have to go through all the trouble" I say "it's no trouble for the one person who supports me the most besides my sister." She smiles the biggest smile and puts out her arm for the first gift I hand her the small box.

Shelby's P.O.V.

she hands me a small box I pop it open its a bracelet that has my name engraved on the top with two blue stones in it and the inside says
(your dearest friend Maihua) I look and her and tear up she wipes the tear off my face and takes the bracelet and places it on my wrist and clasps it she hands me a bag I open it it has her Merch, sweatshirts, t-shirts, rubber bracelets, beanies, and a book sack. She gives me the flowers I put them in the empty vase next to my roll bed. My head was itchy I go to scratch and when I do a tiny bit of hair comes out, I try to hide it. She softly grabs my hand opens it grabs my hair and places it in the bracelet box and says "Shelby there's no need to feel bad it's not your fault you'd be beautiful with or without hair" I look at her and say "would you do me a favor?" She looks at me confused and says yes I say "I'm almost done with kemo I have one treatment left I've managed to keep most my hair and what has fallen out is on the bottom my hair is thick as it is so would you be hear when I have the stylist come in I have declined everytime she asked so far so I think I'll cut the the bottom as a undercut it'll be if it my confidence and why the hell not go with the typical lesbian cut" we all laugh I start to feel sick to my stomach I try to get up on my own but when I do I fall Maihua jumps out the bed and comes to my aid she helps me up and asks where I'm trying to go I point to my button for missing Stacey the nurse she sits me on the bed and grabs it and presses it miss Stacey walks in and says "Shelby you buzzed? Are you okay?" I say in sign language sick to my stomach she goes to the cabinet and unlocks it she pulls out my medicine and a little water she hands it to me I swallow I sign thank you they give me a few to be able to speak I break down and cry "I'm so sorry Maihua I'm probably such a let down" She says "no you have seriously given me the best get away yes I'm sad that your hurting but good is soon to come for you its OK I know it I'm here Shelby and if you ever feel like pushing me away I will hug you closer plus I want to give you my number your such an amazing person and I want to be friends" I nod now crying happy tears we hug tightly a d as if on cue the stylist comes in and says "hey girly knock knock I know you probably going to say no but I wanna check in do you want a haircut? Oh you have friends over awe thank yall she seems cheery!" I smile widely she gasp and says "your gonna let me cut your hair!!!" I say yes but I only want an undercut!I'll put my hair in a pony right now." I try to but my hands hurt from the iv so Gaonha does it for me I hug and thank her they help me into the chair and she pulls in her bag and pulls out her clippers it literally took her 15 minutes and I happy cried the entire time Maihua and Gaonha held my hand and after she put my hair in the  bracelet box the give me the mirror and I love it once she left I laid back down we were playing monopoly when the head doctor knocked and walked in and he only comes in when someone's either dying or in remission I immediately assumed the works I started to shake and cry he tells me nicely to calm down Maihua asked what was wrong I said "he only comes in when someone is dying or in remission" he says "well Shelby I am not here cause your dying" he smiles my eyes get wide Maihua immediately jumped out the bed and lifted me up cradle style we all started crying Gaonha hugged us me still in Maihua's arms we all started crying and laughing the doctor calls our attention we stay in the same position he says "your last kemo has been canceled and we will have you a ride and a place to stay in two weeks we are saying two weeks because we want to monitor you okay?!" I nod fast he leaves and I hug Maihua tightly Gaonha says "we will make sure we come visit you when you get out!!!" Maihua says "you are so strong you are a survivor beautiful and strong I am so happy to be your friend" I kissed her cheek and she placed me on the bed I lean over and grab the menu I say "are yall hungry cause this news has me starving!!" We all ordered burgers when it came we sat on the floor and played monopoly and ate our food. When the clock struck 5 o'clock they got ready to leave. We say our goodbyes and video chat till I fall asleep.
