I woke up : in Nates arms.

My heart : beating rapidly.

My feelings : unsure.

My mind : everywhere.

You'd think that waking up many times before next to my best friend would be fine, with how long we've known each other. Nah not this time. Not when my heart and head tell me two totally different things.

Not when I know I will probably will just end up getting hurt...

Just how I love starting my days. Yet it was finally Friday. I quickly got into the shower and washed my hair and body. For some reason, I felt gross and stressed from my thoughts. I got out in a couple minuets later feeling better.

I slipped on black ripped jeans, white vans, a striped shirt with a light washed jean jacket that I had packed. I let my hair take a somewhat curly state today. I checked the time on my phone and realized it was already 7:05 and Nate still wasn't up.

"Nate," I said shaking him, "you need to get up"

"I don't have to" he mumbled, which was insanely adorable.

"You do if you wanna be able to play in next weeks games" I said and he got up quickly to that answer. I swear that boys life revolves around baseball. He's insanely good at it, so I don't see how it couldn't.

Nate slipped on some jeans, a black salt life t-shirt, his silver chain, and some sperries. He fluffed his hair a little and brushed his teeth. I bit my lip, black really was his color. We quickly grabbed our bags and jumped into his truck. We'll grab breakfast at school.

We rolled up in the school parking lot and everyone's eyes diverted to us. A couple of the other baseball players were standing in a small group waiting. They all smirked when we showed up.

"Why is everyone staring?" I asked unbuckling my seatbelt, Nate doing the same. He looked around and smirked. Uh oh.

"They want a show, let's give them a show" then he opened the door and hopped out.

"Wait Nate I don't think-" I started, "we should do that.." I fall silent on the last part because he already shut the door. I sighed, let's just...get this over with.

Nate opened my door and helped me out, grabbing my bag and handing it to me. I thanked him. I started to walk away when a certain someone, guess who, pulled me back into their arms.

"Where ya goin?" He whispered into my neck. I felt his hot minty breath on my neck and blushed a little. I felt the baseball guys eyes on me, great. Wonder if they think I'm just another little "play toy" like Lindsey. Sucks for them because I'm not lmaoooo.

"I got class," I mumbled, shifting legs. Nate smirked and his hands snaked around my waist holding me tighter. I looked down at the ground, adverting anyone's eyes cause Lord knows the whole school was watching.

"Let me walk you,"

"Nate we literally have the same class,"

"Even better, let's go, don't want the princess to be late,"

"Who said I was a princess?"

"Me," he smirked and then winked when we made eye contact.

Nate. My ultimate best friend, since child hood. Let me just start with the list.

• we had s*x
• we kissed
• he's walking me to class
• but we aren't dating
• we sleep in the same bed w/ minimal clothing
• he's been really sweet
• he's amazing

Oh yeah, did I mention?

THAT

WE

AREN'T

DATING?!

I shut off my brain as we reached English class. Took our seats and begun to read about something no one, and I mean it, no one cared for. It's about how to basically not be stupid when writing a paper.

Yes you heard me, we are reading pages in a book, on how to write better. Instead of our teacher actually helping us, she just reads to us. Lol, cute.

It was finally lunch when I saw Rain. Her and Ryan finally made things official. She's been bugging me to do the same with the devil himself, but I just can't. It literally screws everything up.

I just have to find a way to not have feelings involved with this "friends with benefits" sh*t. It shouldn't be hard right? I suddenly looked up from my lunch and saw him.

He was coming out of the lunch line, with a tray of food, a smirk on his face, eyes locked on me, with his walk with the little shoulder dip. Everyone admired him. I couldn't help but bite my lip as my eyes looked him up and down. Who wouldn't?

He set his tray down first then sat down next to me, a little closer then usual. He laid his arm on my chair & everyone fell somewhat silent. Why do so many people actually care?

"Everyone seems to be liking us together," he leaned in and whispered.

"I guess so," I said.

"You all still coming to the party tonight?" Josh asked looking at Rain and I. We nodded our heads.

"What's the theme?" Rain asked taking a bite of her sandwich. Ryan laughing at her as she manages to miss her mouth.

"Favorite movie or tv show characters, you can twin with someone or as a couple do some romantic sh*t," Josh said rolling his eyes. He isn't lucky with the girls like the rest of the team. Nate nudged my shoulder.

"You going as Meredith from Grays?"

"How'd you know?" I said chuckling. Not like I totally binge watch it or save quotes or want to be a nurse because of the show..

"I know you well enough to know you'd go as her,"

"Not like we've been friends for 18 years, plus the months we were in our moms stomachs," I said laughing.

"I won't lie....you'd look really hot in scrubs," Nate said looking at me and lightly biting his lip. I blushed. Hard. Why is he doing this to me?

"You literally only see me as a friend," I said quietly trying to shake the feeling of sadness and jealousy that he won't ever chose me.

"You sure about that baby girl?" He said as he winked, stood up and walked out of the cafeteria as the bell rang leaving me left with my mouth wide open.
