There was a loud boom, and everything went black. Instantly I reached for my flashlight, turning it on as quickly as possible. "Amanda, I'm going to the basement. The power has to come back on, or else we will get fired.", I said. "But what about the phone call?", she asked nervously. "Forget that, we need power!", I called out behind my shoulder, as I started for the hallway. Shining my flashlight on the floor ahead of me, I noticed a set of footprints leading in the other direction, which was behind me. I just shook my head. 'There is nothing to be freaked out about.', I told myself. Finally, I had reached the door marked BASEMENT. Quietly opening the door, I trudged down the stairs. Suddenly, my flaslight flickered, and  lost all battery power. I cursed loudly for being so careless. I feel my way along the cold basement walls, hoping to find the switch. Instead, I come to find a door. Opening the door, I feel for the switch. "Yes! I found it!", I called, flipping on the switch. When I looked up, the cold, dead eyes of an animatronic I had never seen before were staring at me. The jaw on this thing was broken, and the gleaming hook on his hand makes me loose it. I scream at the top of my lungs, stumbling backwards. Getting up and turning around takes a moment, for falling over took my breath away. Sprinting up the stairs at full speed, I slam the door behind me. Now I'm sprinting even faster, until I reach the our office. But instead of seeing Amanda inside, I see the chicken animatronic. and Amanda is nowhere in sight.
