I cut my hair hair this weekend, now I look like the younger version of Ruby Rose. I had to cut my hair, or else I'd be voted 'girl with the most ugly hair' at the end of senior year. My hair looked like a mess, it doesn't help that my twin sister is this flashy girl who is always up to point with the trends our generation sets. All that left is for her to start setting her own.

" Oh my gosh, I finally have a brother." My sisters voice came from my doorway.

I turned away from my mirror and looked at her. Her long brunette hair was in a pony tail. She wore short shorts with a pink bra. " Oh hush, I'm still far away from being that."

I grabbed my school bag off my messy bed. I was to lazy to make it this morning. " At the rate that your going? I'd say we're well on our way." She says pointing at my outfit.

I'm wearing some black baggy pants with a white vest and some black Jordan's.

" And at the rate that your going." I look at her outfit. " I'd say we're Well on our way to being a slut." I force a smile.

I walk out of my room locking it after I shut the door.

" Girl please. You wish you had a bod like mine." She says right behind me.

" We have the same everything Kenya." I roll my eyes.

We walk into the kitchen, my mom is making breakfast while my younger brother studies for a test he has due today. " Morning girls."

Rio looked up from his work. " Mom!" He groans.

" Can't you see your raising two boys now. Verona prefers to be called Austin now."

I pick up the first thing that I could grab and threw it toward him. It was a spoon, luckily for him it landed on the floor right besides him. Austin is the fake pretend boyfriend I made up, from  Europe when we went as a school last year. Everyone was accusing me for being gay when I wouldn't kiss Ryan Woods at a party we went two a week later. So I panicked and made 'Austin' up. The news spread like wildfire.

The girl that hangs out with only boys, doesn't date them. Her only interest is in sports and she doesn't own a dress or any kind of makeup- except chapstick- had a boyfriend. I had to confess that Austin wasn't real because you couldn't find him anywhere on social media. These days, if your not on social media then you don't exist. And I wasn't about to create a fake account featuring a non existent boy. But I also tried to confess that I wasn't gay.

Because I am not.

" What!" Rio shrugged. " I thought you made 'Austin' up because you secretly want to be him." Inverted commas inserted.

I grabbed some toast of my plate glaring at him and took my keys of the counter. I wasn't in the mood for all the mean remarks. If I wanted to be insulted I would go to school. Which is just sad because that's where I'm headed.

" Let's go." I tell my sister, we only have two cars, we bought it ourselves because our proudly single mother is trying to teach us independence. While my drug lord father rots away in jail.

That was a ... moment in my life. No one likes to talk about it but we still visit dad every once a month. Mom dies so every once in a week, but since we're under age and dad is in for something really bad, we can only go once a month.
