Just One Yesterday

Written by: ihearthedrums

Location (storyline): The Hale Sister

Setting: Unknown

Stiles' Point of View:

Have you ever experienced shock? I don't mean the kind of shock where you forgot to do your homework and as the teacher collects it, you just sit there and have an "oh shit" moment. No, that is ridiculous.

The kind of shock that I am talking about lies along the lines of "I Am Your Father." I understand that Star Wars is a poor way to portray something serious, but just listen to me here. This is the moment when you discover or experience a stimuli where you can do nothing but remain motionless as the rest of your life and fate remains in the grip of everyone around you for a few key minutes. Something happens and it beats your entire outlook on life into oblivion so rapidly that you just sit there and scream, just scream at the top of your lungs at the top of the world because you don't know what else you could possibly do.

This, is exactly what I did.

"Okay, so what is your favorite book?" I slurred those words before I took another large swig of my drink, the vodka burning as it cascaded down my throat, killing my insides and my memories within the hour. Anna closed her eyes and concentrated for a few seconds, she replied. "Im gonna say Divergent"

Now I am going to describe what happened there, Anna was pissed at her brother because he did some dumb-ass thing that I don't even remember. She wanted to get away from stress for a little while. So we brought a blanket with us as we made a little campfire and a picnic in the woods one Saturday night. She couldn't get drunk, but I most certainly could. I had grabbed one of my dad's "magic bottles" on the way out. I mean, you can't blame me can you? I am as awkward as hell around the female population, so I unlisted in the help of some liquid confidence. I don't really remember that night all that clearly, so I will just summarize it the best that I can.

I remember blankly staring into space for a few minutes, not really doing much of anything. I was then subjected to Anna snapping her fingers in my face, causing me to jump and almost drop the bottle. "Come on Stilinski, you're already wasted and I'm not carrying you home." I frowned, "But i'm not druuuuuunnnnnkkkkk. You're just really blurry." That sentence was finished with Anna and her signature Hale "I'm surrounded by dumb-asses" eye roll. I took another sip of the drink, swallowing the liquid fire and instantly regretting it. "Hey Anna, did I ever tell you you're really beautiful." She froze, blinking rapidly as if to clear the invisible illusion of my words. "Stiles, your just saying that because you're smashed." I shock my head and gave a small hiccup, "Nope", I said while popping the P. "I've always thought it, except I don't want your brother to chop me into pieces with a kitchen knife. Hey? Is it just me or is the fire singing? I like this song."

Anna sighed as she stood up,"Come on, let's get you home." I stomped my foot as I stood up, "But I like this soooonnngg." This was then proceeded by Anna pulling my arm along the path out of the woods while I slurred the lyrics to Imagine Dragons' "Bleeding Out." "When the Wolves all cry.... Hey Anna you're a wolf!! The song is about you!!! But why would you be crying?" She turned to me as the corners of her mouth turned up, "Stiles, as hilarious as this is to watch you drunk, you have to get home."

The next few minutes were spent with her leading me along as I stumbled behind her. All of a sudden she stopped dead in her tracks, leading me to bump into her. "Woah, Anna why'd you stop..." "Stiles did you hear that?" "Hear what?" She snapped her head around to face behind us, her eyes beginning to glow a bright yellow. She pushed me forward, while whispering harshly "Stiles, just run, I want you to run until you get home and don't turn around no matter what you hear."
