Yrene was absolutely positive that there was nothing more precious than her newborn daughter who now lay cradled against her bosom. The final big push was excruciating, but Yrene's heart felt as light as a feather when she heard her baby's cry for the first time. Sobs raked through her while the nurse finished cleaning the small babe, wrapped her in a white cloth, and handed her to her Yrene. She looked over at Chaol, who also had tears running down his face, and knew that her heart was full and overflowing.

Chaol wept as he stared down at the little bundle of joy cradled against her mother's chest. He was a father to the most beautiful baby girl. He became even more joyous when he started to notice different distinct features in her tiny face.

"She has your nose and lips," Chaol chuckled.

"And she has those gorgeous, big brown eyes of yours," Yrene mused.

Chaol was in utter awe of his wife, who had given birth to this small miracle. He leaned over and kissed her right on her lips. He would forever be thankful for her. They spent many more minutes gushing over their newborn, (who was now awake and making the cutest noises), not wanting to share this moment with anyone right now.

Dorian was ecstatic when he learned that the new baby was finally here. He had a niece! He had half a mind to go running down the hallways and shouting it with glee, if it weren't for Chaol opening the door and beckoning him in. He walked in to face Yrene slightly sitting up in his bed, looking completely exhausted but grinning from ear to ear, and in her arms was a small bundle of white cloth.

"Would you like to hold her?"

Dorian nodded, tears threatening to slip over, and walked over to the bedside. After Yrene showing him how to hold her, he extended his arms, and placed in them was the prettiest babe he'd ever seen. A single tear dropped onto his cheek as he said, "I can't believe I'm an uncle."

"Have you named her?"

Chaol and Yrene glanced at each with knowing smiles. Yrene said "Her name is Josefin Westfall. After my mother."

"That's beautiful, Yrene," Dorian said not wanting to take his sapphire eyes off of those small, brown ones.

"Dorian"

"Hmm?" Dorian turned towards Chaol, whose stare was more solemn than anything.

"What is it, Chaol?"

"We just- we wanted to ask if you-. If you're okay with it of course"

"Get out with it, Chaol," Dorian said with amused look on his face.

"He trying to say that we've talked it over, and we want you to be Josefin's godfather." Yrene said in Chaol's stead.

Dorian looked at them both with gratitude and pride before saying, "I'd be honored to," those tears threatening to slip again.

So there they all were, stationed in Dorian's bedchambers, in utter awe of what was brought into the world on this day. Thinking about the near future, and how much happiness this new edition would bring into their lives.
