The Sun Shines BrightChapter Two

I woke to the bright sun in my eyes placed on a hot surface. What happened? Oh ya, I was shot at and then some humans had dragged me up onto a boat, but why? I was only little. What use was I? Well, I may as well enjoy the view while I can although it is quite blinding.

I lied there in what I thought was a truck box, I've never been on land before I've just listened to my moms descriptions and stories of it. Maybe I should try and get out of here? Wait that would be stupid of me I can't fully shift yet, I'll just end up looking like a dolphin with a human top half.

What are those things that are in those children's fairytales? Calyx? Martins? Merfins? No, mertails? No that's not it either, what was it? Hmmmm???Fintails? No, tailfins? Not that either. man I feel stupid for being told about all this stuff but not remembering the things that I want to remember! Oh, I know what it was! A mermaid!!!! That's what it was!!

As I was thinking the sun disappeared from the sky. Wait, the sun can't disappear, neither can it turn dark in a matter of seconds. What's happening?!?! A sudden jolt made me hit my head off the box, I shook my head to make the feeling go away.

Someone started approaching the back of the truck and opened the box up. He jumped up, walked to my head and grabbed the fabric underneath me. Another man approached at my tail and lifted, as if on cue they both carried me out of the box and through a door, then another, then another, and finally placed me on a table in the middle of a room.

I started to shake my tail and flippers to get their attention so that I could get some water or get down into water, which would be better, but no, they had to bring a bunch of big scary men in white long coats. One picked up some tools, another picked up a tray of needles and the last made his way over to me while putting on some blue gloves.

I watched these men in confusion as they started shinning lights in my eyes poking my fins and measuring ever part on my body. Then one jabbed me with a needle, my eyes went wide as he pulled it back out again filled with my blood.

I squealed at the sight and they stabbed me again but this time they weren't taking my blood, they were putting blood into me. What?! What in the world are they doing to me?!?! Just as I thought that I started to black out. I blinked a couple times before it fully took me over and I was out cold.
