Hi, my name is Karin Johnson, I am in 9th grade at Northern Prep. I made a resolution to tell someone a lot about myself, so here it goes. I was born on November 11 at 11:11 A.M. Yes, yes I know, it is super weird to be born at that time, I mean 11-11-2006 at 11:11 A.M is an odd time to be born. My parents always say I am super lucky, because I was born on almost all elevens. But that isn't really true. I live a pretty basic life, so if I had a life report card, it would be like this:
Life Report Me My BFF, Savannah
Grades A's and B's All A's
Popular Status Normal Very Popular
Hobbies Swimming Cheer, Soccer, Dance
Moneywise Average Almost Rich
Boys Has a crush Has a boyfriend
Parents Parents are divorced Parents together

Prettiness A little above average Very pretty
Trends Up to date Sets them
So, that's pretty much how my life goes. Most people would be jealous of Savannah, my bestie, but I'm cool with it. We are best friends, probably because we've known each other since we were five. Anyway, I will tell you a little bit about my family life. My parents are divorced but they both live here, in Henderson, Nevada. So I see both of them pretty much all the time, even when I'm not "with" them. I switch off living with my parents each week so I'm not away from them for long. When I'm with my mom I live with my sister and my brother, Brian, and Jessica. But when I'm with my dad, I am with my step-siblings, Lisa and Jake. Now listen, I'm going to tell you a secret that would either tear my family apart or bring it together. Brian and Lisa, the oldest of our families, are dating behind our parents backs. This may seem weird because you might think that they are related. But to be technical, they are not actually related by blood, so it wouldn't really affect anything. I figured out they liked each other when I overheard Lisa on the phone two months ago confessing to Brian that she liked him. She made me swear not to tell anyone, which is why it's such a big deal that I am telling you. So, enough about that, let me tell you about my interests. I like to swim, read, and hang out with friends. Other than Savannah, my second, third and fourth best friends are Alexa Marris, Lily Sanchez, and Maya Peters. I also have a huge crush on Carter Davis. He is so cute, kind, athletic, and there is no way I can get him to like me. Savannah is so lucky with a boy's aspect of life. If she wanted to drop her boyfriend, Tyler Morris, she could pick another boy out of the hundreds of boys at our school to be a boyfriend. But, it is always good to wish, right? Anyway, I guess that's enough with telling you about my life. Instead, I'm going to show you my life:It was 2:00 at Northern Prep High School, and I was sitting in history class, writing an essay on Benjamin Franklin and his inventions. I had just finished, and class ended at 2:03, so I just sat and waited for our 7th period to finish. I thought about my friendship with Savannah. I asked myself, 'Was she really my friend?' She was so much better than me at everything- well except for swimming, that was one thing that I could be proud of. I remembered the times where we had fought, the times that we had laughed, everything, both good and bad. But really, how many more good things were there than bad things?Briinnggg!!! The 8th-period bell rang, and everyone rushed out of history to get to their next class. I had culinary next, and Savannah and Maya were in it with me. I made went out the door and hurried to Building D, where culinary was. When I got into the class, it was 2:05, so I had a minute to chat with my friends. Maya and Savannah were already there, and were gossiping in the back of the class. As I walked up they stopped talking, so I was a bit suspicious about what they were saying. "Hey guys." I said, "Hello!" They replied. "I love your shirt" Maya told me as I sat down. "Thanks, Jessica gave it to me with a lot of other clothes that she didn't want anymore. I thought it looked good on me, so I wore it today." I asserted. "Definitely." said Savannah, who herself was wearing a cute red top paired with white skinny jeans and checkered Vans. "So," she asked us. "Do you guys want to go on a shopping spree at the mall with me tomorrow? Alexa and Lily are coming, too." "Sure," Maya and I replied at the same time. Savannah pulled out her silver-cased phone, typed something, and put it back in her pocket. "Ok, I just sent you guys the time and address." Savannah informed us. "Hey, Savannah, is that a new phone case?" I asked. "Yeah, I just got the new iPhone 11 Pro, and I needed a case to match it." Savannah said calmly. Maya and I gaped. I only had an iPhone 7, and she had a 6. "Oh my goodness, Savannah!" Maya said, still in shock. "You just got the iPhone XR, like two months ago." "Wait, I did?" Savannah seemed to think about it for a minute, "Oh, yeah, but I thought I'd treat myself to a new one, the other one was kind of old." Maya and I exchanged glances, I could tell she also thought that that was silly, I mean, a two month old phone isn't old at all, I've had mine for 3 years, and I don't think it's that old! "Anyway," Savannah told me, " We should probably get started on our art project." "Ok," I agreed and we got to work. I drew a portrait of Savannah and she drew one of me. Maya just drew a picture of herself, because she had no one to draw for. I worked really hard to capture all of Savannah's features, therefore time went really quickly. Suddenly, the bell rang and everybody was packing up. Savannah went over to her boyfriend, Tyler, so I waited for her to finish talking. My pocket vibrated, so I pulled my phone out, read the new message and sighed. I waited some more, and when she finally finished talking, I said, "Savannah? Is there a way that I could catch a ride home, my mom is going to be late because she has all of the sudden work meeting." "Definitely!" said Savannah, and then she hugged me. "Oh, by the way, can I ask you something?" "Sure," I responded. "Okay," she said. "But you have to promise not to tell Lily, Maya, or Alexa. Okay?" "Okay?" I said, unsure." "Do you want my old iPhone XR? She asked me and then looked around to see if anyone was watching. "Oh my goodness, Savannah!" I said excitedly. "I couldn't take that from you, that would be like taking 800 dollars for free from you!" "Oh no! I insist, you have such an old phone and I have a newer phone so it would be weird if I didn't." "Are you sure, Savannah?" I asked cautiously."Yep, I have it right here, and I erased all the data so it's just like new." She pulled silver phone with a rose gold phone case out of her bag and offered it to me. I took it gladly and gave her a huge hug. "You're the bestest friend ever!" I said, beaming from happiness. All of my thoughts about Savannah not being my best friend left my head, well all but the one about her and Maya whispering behind my back. But at that time I just decided to believe that she was still by best friend., or so I thought.
