Hey! I'm Savannah Smith, and I'm super excited to do the big 9th grade writing project! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My parents are Amanda Smith and John Smith, married since 2000. I have two high school sisters named Vanessa and Julia, who are ages 16 and 17. We all get along so well, and I am so grateful for them. They teach me everything, from makeup tips to getting boys to fashion. Everything you need to survive high school these days. I learn from the best. At a different high school, my sisters are both the most popular in their school. I try my hardest to be popular, but I just don't think that I am, even though everyone tells me that I am the most popular girl in school.
Anyway, enough about that, I will tell you about some of my hobbies. I do cheer, dance, gymnastics, and soccer, but I still have free time to hang out with my best friend, Karin Johnson. Karin and I have been friends since the age of five, but sometimes we get into fights about how she thinks that I am better than her, but I always remind her that we are equal at everything. At least, I think that we are. Everyone else thinks that I am better, but I don't know what they're talking about. Anyway, I bet you are bored of me just talking about my life, Instead of telling you about my 'backstory', I'm going to tell you about a time in my life:
It was 2:00 on Friday, May 5 and I was finishing a recital for Romeo and Juliet in a drama. After I said my last line, the bell rang. I took my LuluLemon backpack and headed down the hall to art. Maya and I met up, and we started talking about ideas for a surprise party that we were planning for Karin's birthday in June. We were deciding the place-either a pool party in my backyard or a movie. A sequel to Karin's favorite movie was coming out soon, but Karin also loves to swim, so we weren't sure. We were about to decide when she walked in and we stopped talking.
"Hey, guys!" she said. "Hello," we replied. She looked a bit suspicious but mostly fine, so Maya came up with a compliment. "I love your shirt!" she said as Karin sat down. ""Thanks, I bought it at the mall. I thought it looked good on me, so I wore it today." she asserted. "Definitely." I added.
"So, speaking of the mall, " I said. "Do you guys want to go on a shopping spree there with me tonight? Alexa and Lily are coming, too." "Sure," Maya and Karin replied simultaneously. I pulled out of my pocket, texted them the time and address, and told them that I did so. Then we worked on our art project until the bell rang.
Once it did, I headed over to chat with my boyfriend, Tyler. "Hey!" I said flirtatiously to him. "Hey, Savannah!" he said back. "Oh, by the way," he said casually. "Do you want to go to the bowling alley with me tonight? I'm going with Carter." Carter was Tyler's best friend and Karin's crush. "Sure," I said. "But can I invite Karin, too?" "Perfect!" he said. "I'll meet you there at 8:30." "Sounds great!" I said, "See you!" I walked back over to Karin and was about to tell her the news but Karin suddenly asked me if my mom could drop her off at her house. I said that I was great with that, and then I gave her my old iPhone.
Wow, my schedule is packed:
Time Activity
3:00-3:30 Homework
3:45-5:00 Shopping
5:15-6:00 Soccer Practice
6:00-6:30 Dinner
7:00-8:00 Cheer
8:30-10:00 Bowling
I am going to be super busy. Ok, let's go back to Earth.
I went to the school parking lot with Karin and found my family's new pure-white Tesla with my mom in it, waiting for me. I hopped into the back seat with Karin sitting next to me, my mom put the car in drive, and off we went. "How was your day, girls?" she asked kindly. "Oh, it was good," I said. "Decent," Karin replied. "Are you excited to go to the mall today?" she questioned. "Yeah, I'm super excited! Oh, and also, I am going bowling tonight with Tyler, Carter, and Karin. That's okay, right?" "Of course, sweetie," she said. "That sounds fun." Abruptly, my mom's ringtone, a beach tune, played, and she reached for her phone. She took the call, which must have been one for work, because it sounded very monotonous.
"Hey, do you want to go bowling with me, Tyler, and Carter?" I said to Karin. "Are you kidding?! Of course! Eeeeeeeeeeeehh!" she said, and then pretended to pass out in my arms. I think that this would be the first time that she has ever actually interacted with Carter. "This is going to be the best day ever!" she said.
We entered her neighborhood, and my mom slowed the car to a stop at Karin's mom's house. Karin hopped out, said "Thank you for driving me," to my mom, and walked up to the front door. She rang the doorbell, and after about twenty seconds, the door opened to reveal her sister, Lisa, who was dressed in a crop top and light blue skinny jeans. Lisa mouthed 'thank you' to my mom, and then we drove away.
Once I got home, I worked on my history homework while sipping a delicious homemade peanut butter hot cocoa that my mom made. After I finished my snack, I went upstairs and got ready to go shopping. I changed my red top into a cute teal one, and switched my checkered Vans for short black heels. I took my white mini purse, put my credit card in it, and headed to ask for a ride.
I walked into my sister Julia's room, which was a teal and silver room with white lights everywhere, on her vanity to her bedpost. She was on her Macbook Pro, probably doing homework. I walked in, flung myself onto her bed, and said, "Hey, Julia. Can you please drive me and Karin to the mall? Please?" "Okay, sis. Just wait one second. I have to finish this project for my English class." She typed something quickly, and then shut her computer screen and said, "Okay," she said. "Let's go!"
We opened the front door and walked over to her white Corolla. She opened the driver door, hopped in, and I sat in the back so that Karin could sit next to me. We went to Karin's neighborhood again-why couldn't she just have come home with me? I walked up to the front porch and rang the doorbell. Karin came out in a baby blue long-sleeved crop top, black leggings, and white wedges. I have to admit, the outfit was so cute that I was a little jealous. But not too much. "Let's go do some shopping!" I exclaimed.
