Screams erupting all around her, oh how tired she had grown of these terrifying screams. Every night, every single night for months, would these come. She never found the reason to why these come, nor from where. They made it so difficult to sleep, rarely did she manage to do it. Coffee and other beverages with much caffeine helped her stay awake. Big, black circles under her glassy green eyes. Her bad sleeping schedule had other effects as well, but not really physically, but mentally. She had developed signs of paranoia. Constantly feeling watched, feeling a presence, feeling like she wasn't alone. These feelings were brushed off as thinking it was her friend that visited her daily, helping her with simple tasks. Alex was a good friend coming daily to take care of Samantha. And Samantha is grateful for that, she really needs Alex's help around the house. Having a limited eyesight makes simple tasks difficult.
In the time Samantha was caught up in her thinking, the sun was finally starting to rise. The screams starting to fade into the nothing they were coming from.
"Finally... " said Samantha in her soft voice.
She sat up in her bed and looked out the window, taking in the ' beautiful ' view. Giving a quiet sigh she made her way out of bed. The wooden planks under her feet creaking with each step.
" Thump " something has fallen. Samantha spun around looking if she could make out any differences in her room. Doesn't look like it. She stayed quiet to listen for new noises. Light steps could be heard in the hallway.
Samantha called out " Alex? Are you here already? "
The steps stopped... Suddenly the door opened.
" Heyyy Samantha!" Alex cheerfully said.
" Oh my god Alex! You scared the living daylight out of me!"
" Oh I didn't mean to!"
" Yeah thank you. " Samantha sarcastically said.
" Well why are you here this early already? The sun just started to rise. " " Oh I just thought that I could come earlier and stay longer cause it's my free day. "
" You don't work today?"
" Yep, all free... Let's make breakfast!" " Um sure lets go. "
With that Samantha and Alex went downstairs to start the day.
