based on the scene in little women
-

you were walking along the path outside of your house now, aimlessly kicking rocks around as tears overwhelmed your body.

you got to the little stream with the bridge as you sat down and swung your legs over the edge. tears kept coming out of your body as you pulled out the letter you had written to him.

gripping it in your hands tightly, you felt it begin to break slightly. you took it out of the envelope; however, and looked down at your quick handwriting.

you didn't realize timothée was next to you until he said something.

"is that for me?"

you shook slightly, wiping the tears off of your cheeks as you looked back down towards the letter.

"it's for the river now," you muttered as you began to toss it in but timothée grabbed it from you before you could.

you stood up trying to get it back but it was too late- he was already reading what you had written to him.

sitting back down, you stared out down towards the creek as you let out a disappointed sigh.

"you love me? you have loved me? all along?"

you nodded. "i didn't realize it until it was apparently too late."

timothée let out a sigh, sitting down next to you.

"this doesn't have to prohibit our friendship though," he said. "we can still be friends and i can help you find a guy and-"

"the only guy i'll ever want is you, timothée. and i screwed it up like i screw everything up so there's no use in trying to find a guy when there isn't another out there for me," you muttered, still staring at at the water.

"there's got to be someone," he said softly, watching you swing your legs back and forth.

"that someone is you, timothée," you replied. "but you're married to my sister so what the hell are you trying to get me to do."

you looked at him with tears in your eyes.

"there's no point in trying," you told him "i love you, timothée. and i made the mistake and now i have to live with it for the rest of my life so can you please just stop trying to find a guy for me."

"i refuse to let you be lonely," he told you.

you laid your head on the railing.

"i think i can be lonely for life if i've done it for this long. i'll always have my other sister and my mom."

"don't disown your sister simply because we're married, ____. you have her too."

you shook your head. "it's too hard."

timothée continued to look at you.

he wished he could somehow make this better but it was simply the way that it was going to be from now on.
