"Come on Aspen!! Sprint!!" My gym teacher yelled at me, I just realized I zoned out for who knows how long I'm just so excited to meet and talk to Zach. "Sorry!" I yelled back and started to run. I'm not the fastest per say but I know how to run and at a good pace, some of the athletic kids get mad at me when they end up behind me I normally here "ugh, move." Or "get out of my way!" You get used to it after a while. "Alright, time!! Go home I don't wanna see ya anymore." The gym teacher yelled. I bolted into the locker room and got changed into my jeans and a AC/DC shirt and headed out the door. I walked out into the courtyard and I saw Zach standing there.
This is your big chance Aspen.
As I started to walk towards him a jock ran passed me and yelled "NERD" and he pushed me needless to say I fell and Zach saw the whole thing.
Zach's POV
I was waiting for Aspen in the courtyard, it was 3:05 and I was wondering where she was, then I saw her walking over in jeans and an AC/DC t-shirt, she was so close then a jock came and yelled at her I couldn't hear what he said then pushed her to the ground, "Aspen, are you okay?" "I-I-I'm fine, how much of that did you see?" She asked nervously "only a little bit, what did that guy say to you?" "He called me a nerd." I saw in her eyes the nervousness she had, I tried to change the subject but it didn't end well. "Did you always have two different colored eyes?" "Yea, I'm the only one in my whole family besides my dead great great grandma, I never really liked it." "It's what makes you special." She giggled and smiled. That was the first time she smiled for real, we spent a few moments starting into each other's eyes, "oh well, where are we gonna go?" She asked just then I noticed I completely zoned out. "I know this retro diner we can go to?" "Sounds good to me!"
