Where am I?
Will!
"Will," Is that my voice? It sounded so gravelly.
"I'm here Rosey-Posey. I was waiting for you to wake up. Why did you go to sleep again after you just woke up?" Will sounded genuinely curious, the boy is so innocent.
"I was just tired, that's all. Come," I held my arms out for him, "Lie next to me for a bit,"
"Okay," He nestled himself in my arms. We haven't done this since he was six, after his seventh birthday he believed he was too old to cuddle in my arms. It felt good, it felt different from what I feel daily. I felt warm inside and love radiated from me. It was in the air around us, I feel good.
We rested side by side, I held him tight in myarms. Holding each other's hand, afraid to let go. Afraid of the unknown. We lay there for a long time when Will finally spoke up. "Rosey?" Will probed.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Why did you disappear for a long time, while getting my dinosaur plaster? Also why were you screaming my name? I was waiting for you in your room. I was so scared. I thought somebody was hurting you. I tried to open the door, but it wouldn't open. It was really cold too. I was so scared," he queried, and he recounted. His fear slithers out. He's shaking from how much it traumatised him.
It was my fault. I did that to him. All I do is hurt people. I'm just like him. Tears- weakness. Anger- hamartia. I don't know what to do.
"I don't know. I guess I just hallucinated, don't worry you'll be fine. I'm here to protect you. The only reason I was calling your name was because I couldn't open the door and the pancakes were ready," I tried my best to not my voice shake, to seem confident and strong for him.
"Really?" He doubted me. Guess that must have hurt him enough to not trust my word.
"Really. I would never lie to you," I told him, lying through my teeth.
"Okey," The way he said okay was cute. I love him.
"I love you. Now go to sleep," I was sleepy.
"But it's the middle-" He tried to say.
"Eh, eh, eh. Listen to your big sister and sleep. I love you." I interceded.
"Okay. I love you too. See you in the night." I cracked a smile and he closed his eyes. He is my everything.
***
He hate dreamland. It was so annoying. However, he had a job and he needed to report back to Him. He didn't know why he was assigned to her. She had too many problems, but he had come to love her over time. Being with her for 10 years did have an effect on him.
He had gained human attributes and habits. He had an accent and as angel you don't really have something that makes you unique. You look the same as everyone else. He looked like every other person there, unless you were of the opposite gender. He still needed a way to be recognised by others. He had a sharper nose, smaller ears and golden eyes. The golden eyes everyone shared, and nobody could change.
It marked you as an angel.
His preferred gender was male while his sister's was female. They shouldn't have favourites, they should love everything the same. They couldn't help it. Another mannerism they had picked up from humans.
Speaking of his sister she should be here soon since she had to report her assessment of her human child, nearing adulthood, too. His beautiful, beautiful, amazing sister who got the child with less baggage because she had made him late to the meeting. That was a story for a different time.
"Oh, brother dear! Always in the male gender, I see!" She exclaimed out nowhere. Had he been a normal human she would have scared the lights out of him, but he wasn't.
"As are you female. Expect nothing different of me if I cannot expect the same," He replied, opening out his arms in embrace. She ran into his arms, both ignoring the stares the got from prying eyes. He breathed her in, it had been long since they had seen each other.
"I missed you brother," She whispered.
"And I you," Then they were summoned.
"The siblings have arrived," The words said with such disgust that they knew just who it was. The devil of this district- Samuel. He has such a pure name and handsome face, yet he was so cruel.
"I see for once you are early Samuel," He said in a civilised manner.
"You live up to the name of being late. Never thought and angel had it in him," He was baiting him, and it was working. He needs to reel in the human emotions. He was an angel, a pure being incapable of feeling useless emotions.
"Thank you, Samuel. By going by your behaviour, I presume we were the last of demons and angels to arrive, and now we just wait for the higher-up. I shall go take my seat," He dismissed him from his mind, and he could see the fury boiling on Samuel's face.
Once Samuel processed his word, he smirked.
"I believe Cecile and you are the last of those among all the people attending this meeting. Unless I am mistaken."
He was too focused on Samuel to have a proper look at the table he had just assumed. Seeing how Cecile didn't stop him, he was guessing she hadn't seen either. He turned to look at her, she looked equally shocked but soon masked her feeling. Angel don't feel. He focused his eyes on the meeting table, only to be met with an astonishing view.
It was Him, sitting at the head of the table, and on the opposite ends of the meeting table was Lucifer.
