Felix hated being put on the spot with questions and it didn't help that nothing got past Dr. Chan. There were no loopholes to take and certainly no wiggle room. He sighed defeatedly and answered the first question asked.

"Do you eat a standard three meals a day?"

Felix shook his head, "No."

"Do you have at least two meals a day?"

Felix shrugged, "sometimes maybe."

"What did you have for lunch today?"

"I haven't had lunch," Felix replied, feet swinging over the edge of the check-up table where he sat.

"What about breakfast?" Chan questioned, hand scribbling away as he continued down the line of questions without pause.

"No."

The physician looked up at him now, "Felix, what did you have for dinner last night?"
Felix refused to meet Chan's eyes, already knowing the look he'd receive when he gave his answer. His voice came out low, almost in a whisper as he replied, "I don't remember.."

A silence fell over the room. Felix could feel the physician's eyes on him, willing him to meet his gaze, but Felix wouldn't. He knew that he would end up crying if he did.

Another beat of silence passed between them before Chan continued on with the evaluation professionally, the following questions aimed towards sleeping patterns and his mental state. When the evaluation was over, Chan handed Felix yet another folder containing a diet plan before giving Felix an assuring shoulder squeeze.

"Felix, look at me."

Felix did, thankful to not find any sign of anger on the physician's face.

"I go on my lunch break in five. Do you need a ride?"

Felix thought about his T-money card in his pocket, the one he hadn't checked the balance on. He wasn't sure how much money he actually had on it currently but considering he'd used it to get around all week without checking, It was probably in desperate need of a reload.

This wasn't anything uncommon, Chan would always offer him a ride if his appointments ended around his lunch break, and then they'd go out for lunch. Felix felt like the 'lunch' aspect was probably more upfront in the physician's mind as he offered this time. Nonetheless, Felix nodded.

"Yes please."

Chan nodded and the assuring hand left Felix's shoulder. Keys were placed in his hands and Chan spoke from over his shoulder as he got the room set up for his later appointments. "Go on to my car, you know where to find it."

Felix nodded and hopped off the table, leaving the room and exiting the hospital, going out into the parking lot and locating the familiar blue 2019 Kia soul parked in an 'employee-reserved' spot. It never failed to make him feel better about himself knowing that Chan entrusted placing the keys to his vehicle into his hands.

Felix unlocked the doors and settled himself in the passenger seat, starting up the car for Chan and pulling on his seatbelt before leaning back against the seat. The familiar comforting scent of vanilla and coffee filled his nose, the scent always the same whenever he took up the doctor's offer for a ride.
