Chapter 2: A World Of Monsters

What happened to me?

Hell, I don't know the answer to that question myself.

"I-I..." I could barely manage to stutter out. It was as if my voice had given up on me.

The doctor looked intensely at me. "Your injuries are very... Unusual.." He said. "Unlike any other I've seen. No one would be able to survive whatever thing tore through your back. It would have gone through your spinal cord as well."

I pant a little. Finally, I feel as if though I could speak. "This world..." I manage out quietly, looking down. "Is full of monsters... Staring at you through your window at night, hiding under your bed or in your closet, monsters from your worst nightmares roam the streets at night,"

A small chuckle came from the doctor's mouth, this fucker thought I was joking. "You think this is a fucking joke?!" I scream, attempting to scoot closer.

The doctor looked over at me with a raised eyebrow. "Right, I'll get a drug test scheduled." She said writing down on the clipboard.

I twitch. "I'm not high!" I yell. The doctor looks over at me. "Perhaps there's a bit of hallucination as well." He said, glancing at my forehead.

I twitch once more, feeling pressure against my back. I sigh. "Fine... Don't believe me..." My eyes become silver for a moment. "Your daughter, Moika, is being stalked. A man.. Who committed multiple crimes... Rape... Murder... Fraud... Theft..." I say.

The doctor flinched. His look became more tense and serious. "How do you know my daughter?" He asked. I close my eyes. "He's about to rape your daughter and kidnap her for a ransom. If you leave now, you can make it. Stay and make fun of me, your daughter will be gone." I tilt my head.

The doctor stood up. He rushed out the door, closing it behind him. I sigh, laying back down and closing my eyes. 'I need to get out of this hell-hole...'

I looked to the side to see tubes pumping some sort of substance into me. Medical stuff, I was never really interested in that kind of thing.

I raise my hand and grab the tubes all at once and yank them out.

"GAAHHH!!"

I flinch and cover my mouth. Why is it whenever I let that voice slip out, it always echoes?

I hear the sound of footsteps rushing toward my room and immediately pull the sheets off of me, grabbing my clothes which were conveniently placed beside the bed and opening the window. There was a slope that lined the bottom of every window, thick enough to carry one foot. I glance at the door before taking a step and quickly yet carefully stepping out the window and pushing my back along the brick wall.

'Holy shit that's a long drop.'

I shudder before holding my tongue and closing my mouth.

"Where did she go?!" A voice asked. "The tubes look like they've been forcefully pulled out!" Another voice said, her voice sounding frantic.

I swallow the lump in my throat as my eyes close tightly, praying that I wouldn't fall from the slope.

My body shook with every hesitant step I made.

"SHE'S HERE!"
