When Taehyung woke up, his head hurt really bad and it took him a moment to recognize where he is.

He was wearing a hospital gown in what could possibly be the school clinic. It was confirmed when he heard the familiar voice of the school nurse treating someone behind the curtains next to him.

It's not that he's a regular at the student clinic. He knows he's not athletic and perhaps not a weakling as well. But he has enhanced auditory senses that he could hear thoughts and easily familiarize himself with voices. One confinement in the clinic is enough to make him remember who owns that calming voice, even if that was ages ago.

Mrs. Son will serve as his beloved caregiver in school today. He would watch him with a motherly eye and let him stay in the comfort of her abode. He already read her thoughts. She was planning to give him cookies when he wakes up.

Taehyung then closed his eyes and faked his sleep so as not to disturb the nurse who is still working on another job. It was his way of recharging after that long game, too.

Until he heard someone scream.

He immediately got up and pulled the curtains aside.

"What the—"

He was cut off by the sight of an angel. A girl named Tzuyu was getting her wound dressed by the nurse. The wound was on the knee and it looks really painful. But the sight of blood just made Taehyung's gut twitch in excitement. There was no way this is going to invite him, though. And at all costs, it shouldn't. He's trying to become a vegetarian like his best friend and cousin, Seokjin.

The women who are staring at him in confusion were both seeking for answers. Tzuyu was close to sobbing so when Taehyung met her eyes he smiled the sweetest he could muster.

"It won't hurt. Trust me. I got hit really hard on the head today." He put a palm on the side of his head. "But still, I could smile."

Then both hands turned into flower cups below his chin as he gave her a cute smile again.

He is full of aegyo even when he's sick.

But the girl just ignored him. Her thoughts saying, "He's weird," which made Taehyung frown.

"How are you feeling, dear? Were you having a bad dream?" Mrs. Son asked him.

"Um, no," Taehyung replied as if apologetically, "I heard someone scream."

Mrs. Son gave him a wary look, "Nobody screamed."

Okay. So it was all in his mind. His head that was hit earlier suddenly finds it hard to discern which is said and thought.

Taehyung then scratched his nape, "I guess it was a bad dream then."

"Maybe you should get some rest," Mrs. Son suggested as she finished dressing the girl's wound.

"I guess I'm okay," Taehyung said ruefully. "What happened?"

"Helmet-to-helmet collision. They said it was a strong headbutt."

"Ouch," He grimaced. "How long was I out?"

"A few hours. It would've taken out a red blood."

"That sucks," Taehyung groaned. "Can I get out of here today?"

He sounds a little bit husky...and manly to the liking of the girl sitting on the bed behind the drawn curtains that separated them. Too bad he was eavesdropping and he can't help but grin internally at what he heard her say in her thoughts.

"Not yet. Your parents insisted to let your family doctor check on you tomorrow morning. I'm afraid you have to spend the night here."

"Sure. Would she be staying here with me?" He asked confidently, making the girl blush.

Mrs. Son already sensed what he's up to so she looked at him, scrutinizing his demeanor, but she believes that vampires from the Sacred Coven wouldn't do something that would make the Red Bloods hate them. After all, in this world and time, vampires could freely mingle with humans without acting like monsters. They are more tamed, evolving like one and the same with humanity.

"Oh yeah," Mrs. Son answered, "She's Tzuyu, by the way. Young lady," She turned to the girl, "This is Taehyung. He's your senior."

Making the introductions would make it less awkward for the sanguinarian and the red blood, she presumed.

"Oh, hello there!" Taehyung gave her the most adorable wave she's ever seen.

And for the first time since they met, she smiled and lightly bowed at him. But if he wasn't her senior, she would've completely ignored him. Taehyung pouts at her thoughts again.

Mrs. Son then proceeds to distribute the cookies among them, "Take a bite. This will make you feel better." And Taehyung was immediately delighted by the taste of cookies, although he knew this girl's blood would've been sweeter.

The pair said their thanks to Mrs. Son and she turned the TV on for them to watch something during their idle time.

"By the way, you have some visitors waiting outside. Should I send them in?" Mrs. Son asked Taehyung.

"Sure." He was nonchalant as he was busy munching the cookies.

Mrs. Son opened the door, "All right, Jin and Krystal, you may come in."

"Hyung! Noona!" Taehyung comically welcomed his best friend and the Black Swan, jumping in excitement.

"Hey! Calm down," Jin scolded him, "How could you overreact when you still wear that gauze turban? Stay still, okay?"

"We brought you dinner," Krystal lifted the tote bag she brought as she emerged from the door, shutting it in the process. Then she noticed Tzuyu on the other side, "Oh, you have a neighbor."

Jin followed suit, peeking at where Krystal was looking, "Oh, hi. Apologies for our goalkeeper. He has been hit so he couldn't think straight." He politely bowed which amused Tzuyu.

"No worries," She said as she waved his hands in front of them. It was the first time she made a conversation.

Taehyung felt a little jealous that Jin could make her talk while he couldn't. He had to hit his friend for making him feel stupid.

"I can think straight as an arrow! Anyway, I'm thirsty. Can I have a drink?"

Krystal moved beside him and whispered the instructions on how he should "eat his dinner" while the red blood is around.

Afterward, the nurse reappeared and declared that visiting hours are over.

Jin then bid him goodbye, clasping Taehyung's right shoulder saying, "Don't do something stupid."

As soon as they were out, Mrs. Son closed the door. She was about to draw the curtains that separated her patients when Taehyung asked if she could just keep it open.

"I love watching music videos at night. I hope you don't mind. Because her side has the TV."

The nurse then just keep it that way and disappeared into her quarters.

Taehyung, on the other hand, quietly settled on his bed with the tote bag beside him...keeping "his food" near him until he could quench his thirst with it.

Even if Tzuyu was a mere foot away from the most beautiful vampire in the Sacred Coven, watching music videos of a boy band dancing in romantic music, she paid him no more thought.
