Nic sat at his desk, trying to write a passage about this new idea he had come up with. The only problem is that he was blanking on how to format his idea in a way that is original. He sighed and decided to go for a walk into the underground city of Blackfalls. Blackfalls was a peaceful community that accepted every species on the planet and was completely hidden by a waterfall. The reason the city was called 'Blackfalls'was because of the black water on the other side. Nic had just crossed the waterfall to the outside world when he felt this strange feeling. A feeling that burned in his chest. It made him feel... evil... yet happy. However, as soon as the feeling came, it left. He shook his head and decided to go to the lake he and his brother used to go to back when he was alive. It was a calm, isolated area that very few knew about. The only constant visitors were Nic and the animals in the forest, coming to get a drink. He dipped his feet in the water and laid back on the soft grass, letting out a long, peaceful sigh. The peace didn't last long. He heard footsteps approaching him.
"Probably just the baker getting some more water for bread dough," he said out loud to no one in particular. That was until he heard the footsteps getting closer and closer, sounding more like hooves than feet. He got up from the lake and put his shoes back on, hiding behind a nearby tree to watch what he assumed to be a deer, drinking from the lake. It wasn't a deer at all. It was an enormous boney bull, horse and some creature that he had never seen before. On top of the bone horse was a skeletal giant, face concealed by a hood who wielded a scythe.
Holy shite!! Nic thought to himself as he started to move back to the falls. The giant seemed to have sensed him from the start, swinging his giant scythe at the tree in front of Nic to block his path. He froze in fear, that tree could have flattened him. The skeletal giant came bearing down on him, feeling the sensation from earlier return to his chest. But... he stopped and sat down criss-cross in front of the terrified young man.

Nic took all of this in for a second, running everything the god had just told him.

"What do you mean? My blood is black, just like everyone else's."
Phak smiled slightly, "̶O̴h̵ ̵y̸o̶u̵ ̷p̴o̶o̸r̷ ̸c̵h̴i̸l̵d̶,̸ ̵e̴v̵e̸r̵y̸o̷n̶e̶ ̴e̵l̵s̴e̸ '̵s̵ ̵b̸l̸o̸o̶d̶ ̵i̴s̴ ̶r̵e̸d̷.̴ ̴Y̴o̴u̸r̶s̷ ̸i̵s̸ ̸b̷l̷a̵c̸k̵ ̵f̴o̴r̴ ̸y̶o̸u̶ ̴a̵r̵e̵ ̸a̶ ̵c̵h̷i̴l̶d̴ ̸o̴f̸ ̵d̵e̶a̴t̸h̶.̷ ̴T̵h̶e̵ ̵c̶h̷i̷l̷d̷r̴e̶n̷ ̸o̷f̷ ̶l̷i̷f̵e̸ ̴b̸l̶e̵e̵d̵ ̵g̷r̶e̷e̸n̸.̸"̶
"Prove it, prove that I am different from my friends and family! I don't believe you!"
Phak sighed, he knew this might be the case but did not want to rush his follower's training. He waved his hand and a young man was suddenly in front of Nic, rooted to the ground by the thick grass.

He looked at it and hesitated, he had never killed anyone before. The look in the man's eyes, they were full of fear. It was delicious to both of the abnormal beings. He wanted to savor the moment, realish it in his mind for as long as possible. He slowly took a step forward, then another until he could lob his head off. He did so quickly, letting the head roll into the lake and staining it red. That... that felt amazing! The look of fear, the sound of wind rushing as he swung the scythe, the head rolling away, all of it felt so good to Nic. It was addicting, yet controllable... for now. Phak seemed pleased with him as well, an added bonus.
"̶W̴e̷l̶l̶ ̶d̸o̷n̴e̶,̴ ̶N̷i̴c̷.̵ ̵H̶o̵w̸ ̸d̶i̵d̴ ̶t̵h̴a̶t̷ ̷f̶e̴e̷l̸?̵"̷
"Amazing my lord. I want to do it again!"
Phak chuckled and started to leave him.
"W-Wait! Where are you going, m'lord?"
"̸I̸ ̶h̷a̸v̷e̷ ̵o̶t̷h̷e̵r̷ ̸m̶a̷t̴t̷e̶r̷s̷ ̴t̶o̴ ̵a̴t̶t̶e̸n̴d̷ ̶t̵o̷.̷ ̵K̵e̷e̴p̸ ̴t̸h̵e̸ ̶s̸c̷y̸t̷h̶e̷,̸ ̶I̴ '̸l̵l̵ ̵b̵e̶ ̴b̸a̶c̴k̵ ̶f̶o̸r̸ ̷y̶o̷u̵ ̵a̸n̷d̴ ̶i̶t̶ ̶l̷a̶t̸e̶r̸.̸.̵.̵.̷, ̵b̷u̸t̴ ̷s̶w̷e̶a̸r̴ ̶t̵o̷ ̸m̷e̵.̷ ̷S̵w̶e̸a̸r̴ ̷t̶o̷ ̴m̷e̶ ̸y̴o̶u̵r̴ ̴a̴l̴l̷e̵g̸i̷a̸n̷c̶e̷.̵"̸ ̸
He immediately took the blade of the scythe and slit his palm, shaking hands with Phak, "I swear upon to you, M'lord, that I will be your loyal and obedient servant, or may I die a thousand painful deaths at the hands of the children of life."
Phak, once again, seemed pleased. Him and his pets disappeared into a black dust before Nic's eyes. He wiped the blood from his hand and the scythe on the grass, cleaning them both. Then started heading back to his desk in Blackfalls. As he walked the ground underneath him began to die at a rapid pace. He looked down at this and took a deep, calm breath. This made it so that he was able to walk onwards without standing out from the rest of the citizens of Blackfalls. Resting the scythe on his shoulder as he crossed from the outside world to the peaceful community, he waved to everyone in his usual normal manner. The scythe was new to everyone there that knew him, but they did agree that it completed his look. At last he had reached his desk, scrapping the paper he was originally working on. He then began to write a journal, only meant for himself, about his encounter with Phak and what he plans on doing to appease him. What he plans on doing to the people of Blackfalls.
