The sound of glass shattering could be heard through the door as the people of Blackfalls passed by Nic’s room. His fiancee was over so they assumed it was another argument, they had been having a numerous amount of those lately.
“STUPID BITCH!” rang through the door as Nic yelled at his fiancee. Lillian was back up against the wall, shaking with fear. She wanted to get his attention since he hasn’t been giving her any all month. Guess she should have known not to interrupt his prayer session.
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU?” he grabbed his scythe and approached her, making her scream in terror. He had never done this before, and boy did he look menacing and beyond angry.
“DO. NOT. INTERRUPT ME,” With each word he tore into her body ad left behind a bloodied corpse. He started to breathe heavily, shaking with rage. When he finally calmed down and returned to reality he looked at the pool of blood, her corpse in the middle of it.
“N-No… H-How could I….?” he started to laugh maniacally as the memories him and Lillian had shared together flashed through his mind, grasping at stands of hair as he did so. He remembered their dates, their cuddles, everything.
“P-Phak!!! M’lord, please hear me! Bring Lillian back to life, bring back my one love. Pl-please I-I’ll do anything for her life.”
“A̷s̸ ̶y̷o̶u̷ ̴w̶i̴s̶h̸” He felt searing pain fill him every nerve, flesh, and mind. It was the worst pain he’d ever feel in his entire life. He fell to one knee then collapsed onto the floor, holding onto his body as tight as he could because he felt like it was being disassembled atom by atom. After ten excruciating minutes, he stood up feeling different. Lillian’s body was gone and so was the blood. He felt the urge to look at himself in a mirror, and so he did. There staring back at them was his and her face, sewn together. They looked under their shirt, their entire body had been segmented down the middle as he and she were sewn together. This… wasn’t what he wanted. A knock came to the door, an old friend coming by to see what was going on and if everything was ok. They glanced around the room for somewhere to hide, but found none. The doorknob turned and a small click was heard. The friend gasped and ran in sight of them, drawing more and more attention to them as he screamed.
“Monster… Monster!!!” The people of Blackfalls had seen nothing like this before, they were afraid and did the one thing they could do… attack. The hybrid of man and woman grabbed their scythe and defended themself, cutting through the mob with ease, then ran. They ran until they got to a manhole in the middle of the street and opened it, hopping down into the underground systems below and putting the manhole back.
“Wh-Where did it go?” They heard from overhead. They breathed heavily, scared that they would find them. However fate had plans for them, they heard footsteps walking away from their hiding spot. Another urge started to pull them in a direction that seemed entirely random, it was not. A concrete home laid in wait for them, all the essentials were already there. They searched the clothes and picked out a black hooded cloak before putting them on.
“Heh, I probably look like Death himself…. That’s what I’ll call myself… Death! And all will learn that I am not the one to be hunted… no… I am the hunter!” They cackled manically then began to explore the rest of the underground systems.
