I never understood decoration.
You spend resources and/or money in something that is just meant to be pretty; something that has no utility.
And I'm not talking about objects that might have some purpose. I'm talking about flowers, for example. You literally kill a living being in order to use it for decoration, knowing that it won't even last long.
And you might be saying: But decoration is beautiful... and it gives life to spaces...
I agree.
But why don't you use something useful for that purpose instead?
Like..., I understand if you have one, two pictures or something else, something that actually has a (deep) meaning to it, but when you deliberately spend whatever it is to have something you won't even look at, just to look pretty.
And also, sometimes, you end up having so many decorations you run out of space and start to store them in shelves and drawers, and the all the purpose fades away.
Besides, the more decorations you have, the hardest it is to clean (especially the dust).
