I sigh as I pull up to the school, I haven't went to school since I first went out into the field at twelve, instead I was homeschooled for the last five years, although my best friend Reid, an assassin like me, stayed in school and told me it's really boring.
Reid is a genius and my team's hacker, meaning he's almost never on the field and was able to live a mostly normal life. He's never had to take another person's life.
"Keegan!" Reid called out and ran over to me, nearly tripping over his untied shoelace.
"Reid. Hard to believe that you're a dancer with how clumsy you are." I scowl as he finally makes it to me. Not only is he a trained assassin, but he sings and dances. How does he trip over his own shoelaces? He should have perfect balance!
"That hurts, hoe. I am fabulous! But only when I want to be." He pretends to flick hair over his shoulder and we both laugh.
"Whatever you say nerd." I flick him in the forehead and walk into the school, heading into the office to get my schedule and locker number. My classes are with my mission and my locker is right next to his.
I head to class and watch as my mission walks in with his best friend, book in hand while he is guided towards his seat. Rumor amongst the A.A.A. is that he wants to be out of the spotlight that his dad's career creates.
"Good morning class, today we have quite a few new students. Everyone heard about how our neighboring school, Spring Hill, caught on fire, well half of those students have come here Spring Valley." The teacher says and then starts the lesson. I decide to ignore her when I realize it's over politics, which is something I've known about for a long time now.
The rest of the day goes by in a similar way and before I know it, it's time change into my gear and go to the president's house to formally introduce myself to my mission and to meet my team members, personally picked by the president.
Once I get there I show my badge to the guards and go into the gates. I park my car in the guest parking lot and head towards the doors, also blocked by guards. I flash my badge again and they open the door for me, and one of them escorts me towards the room with my client, teammates, and mission.
"Ah, Agent 666." President Anderson smirks as I roll my eyes. My mom was his personal guard until she was hurt, then she started guarding his son. After my father died president Anderson became a second father figure.
"You know that it's just 66." I sigh as everyone looks at me. I feel a slight hint of surprise when I see Chase's best friend but smother it when I remember that he had to undergo training once they became close friends, just in case the agents get killed. The agents at A.A.A. even say that he's the reason Chase is alive.
"Rumor has it that you're the devil out in the field. That you leave rivers of crimson." A girl speaks up and I glance over at her. Another assassin.
"Agent 66, this is Parker. She grew up an assassin like you, but I discovered that she is my daughter. You'll be working with her and Agent Thomas. Well I guess we can't forget Agent 89. He will be your hacker, like always 66, but I don't know if he has been told yet. You know how the others are to him." President Anderson says and I nod, tapping my earpiece.
"66 to headquarters, connect me to 89, and let the others know that I will be enacting code 12 tonight." I growl out and listen as I'm quickly connected to Reid.
"66?" Reid asks when our headpieces are joined, which only happens in a mission, and he's the one that joins us.
"89, you are to join me in this mission." I say before disconnecting our earpieces.
