Saturday Night, At 10 p.m.
"Do you want me to drive you home?" When the Line asked me, I shook my head negatively. I could go on my own, also I had to buy a new pair of boots. The ancients did not end very well.
"No, I can go myself. See you at school." I hugged her tightly and turned my back to go to a shoe store. Maybe at this time of the night, buying new boots might not be so smart, but I needed them and I wasn't coming to Port Angeles every day. I closed the zip of my jacket and walked a little faster. After a short walk, I entered the shop and bought what I needed. A new pair of perfect black boots, of course heels.
The bus stop was almost two blocks away and I knew some shortcuts but I wanted to walk. The back streets may not be safe at this time. I breathed the good smell of wet soil. I loved this, I loved living in Forks. I had no family here because they had left me, but I had Uncle Charlie. He was a very kind and understanding person. He was the town's sheriff. I turned on the message ringtone when I heard it on my phone. It was uncle Charlie.
"Hey, look where you're going, little girl." I hit someone and I was on the ground right now. I quickly got up and looked at the man's face. He was taller than me, so it was a little difficult to look at him, but I succeeded.
"I am—" I started, but I couldn't continue because of those deep brown eyes. His eyes were very dark and seemed confused. I felt some strange feeling like we meant to be together. But it was a one second feeling and it gone one second after. None of us didn't move, we stopped for a minute. She finally broke her eyebrows and then smiled. It was a different reaction to his previous reaction.
"Sorry." his voice was very soft. "What is your name?" She seemed to really care, but I wasn't a girl who tells her name to all the boys exist.
"I don't think it is your problem, let me go now." I said because he was standing in front of me. He smiled for a second and then let me go. After thinking that he smiled a little too much, I passed by. I walked fast and never looked back. It was very strange.

The Next Day...
I've been knocking on the door of Jared's house for ten minutes, but of course he hadn't heard me as usual. So I decided to walk to the back door, the garden at the back of the house. I knew he was here, he was always here.
"Jared, can you try to open the door once?" When I saw the garden's tables and chairs, I asked. He didn't answer me, so I shouted even louder. "Jared! You are a total je-" but I had to cut my words. He was here. The man I saw on the road the other day. I was surprised. I didn't know Jared was one of his friends and how I hadn't seen him before.
"Am I dividing something?" I asked with a strange look. Jared smiled at me and got up from his chair. "No babe!" I could swear that I heard something like this . It was in the shape of a whisper, but when I looked at the boys, none of them made any rust. I acted as if I hadn't heard anything.
"No, of course you are not, Maddie. These are my friends." he said and started introducing his 'friends' that I had never seen before. In fact, they looked a little older than him. Although I was wondering why he was hanging out with them, I didn't say anything.
"Brady, Collin, Embry, Quil and" he continued after waiting a second. "Paul"
"Hey, I'm Madeline Swan, but I'm going with Maddie or Renee." I said, smiled. Actually, I was talking to everyone, but I couldn't stop without looking at Paul. I felt very good when Paul smiled at me. Something strange was happening, I knew that. It was more than strange to feel happy for a moment and the other moment surprised. This emotion changing's weren't normal.
"Hey, why Renee?" Asked Collin. I looked at him and sat on a chair. Then I smiled before I spoke.
"This is my aunt's name and it is also my second name, but I definitely don't use that name a lot." I said and looked at them.
"So what were you guys doing?"
"We were just talking..." Quil said. It was a very suspicious answer and, like everything that happens today, I did not understand anything in this answer, but I decided to act as if everything was normal.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" Paul asked me as he got up from his chair. I nodded because I was wondering what he is going to say.
"Sure." We walked into the forest. For a few awkward minutes, no one spoke, and I was actually getting boring. "So?"
"So, I just want to walk with you, Maddie." As he explained and I nodded again.
"You're going to school at La Push, right?" I asked him to start a conversation. He laughed a little.
"No, I've already finished high school." he said and I looked at him right away.
"How? Are you kidding?" I asked in disbelief. He shook his head.
"Nope." I asked again.
"Like, how old are you?"
"Twenty, you?" he asked. I didn't expect him to be older than me. I wasn't that young, I was going to high school, I was a senior but I was still quite surprised.
"I'll be eighteen in April." I said, smiled.
"Happy birthday, Madeline." she said and I laughed. "It is not even in this month. Why did you say that?" I asked and got an answer, but I think he got used to surprising me. Because his answer was surprising maybe even romantic.
"It was for all your birthdays before meeting you."
So, how was the first chapter? I am not a native English speaker and it's my second language. It was a very critical choice to share this story but I love Twilight so I decided to share. Please let me know if I'm okey or not in the comments. I need your advice, have a good day.
