ROSE'S POV

It was as if I was still half asleep. I was aware of movement, of my body trembling, and of the stinging sensation in my fingers. But that was all there was; the shaking. My eyes remained half – closed as if my body could do nothing else.

After the realization that I was awake had drifted between the chills, I could feel hands on me. Rubbing my shoulders, legs, and then grasping my fingers. He pulled them up to his face, kept them in his zone and breathe on them, bringing back some ghost of feeling to my hands.

My forehead was warmer where it touched the skin of his neck, and so were my left cheek and shoulder where they rested on his chest.

I felt him shift forward slightly, my body moving with him. He grasped the sleeping bag in front of him in one hand, his other stretching out around me so that he could unzip it. I felt the cloth on the inside drag over my back and then wrap around my upper body, Harry pulling it between his chest and my shoulder so that I was cocooned in the blanket.

He didn't rest then, though, and we leaned to the side as he pulled something out of the backpack near him, struggling to unzip it with one hand. When he succeeded I felt heavy cloth wrapped around my feet and I thought it might have been a sweater.

Then we went back to our position, Harry's arms tight around me, my head nuzzled in his neck. He propped a leg up a little behind me, my legs draped over the other one, so that he could use his fingers to wrap around my freezing ears. He rubbed his thumb over them back and forth.

"Rose, can you hear me? Say something, please ," he begged.

I wasn't sure if he had been talking before that. But I heard his voice then, felt it rumble in his chest, and tried my best to ease his worry.
"H-har-r-y" was all I got out.

"Yes, baby, what is it?" He answered immediately, hands sliding to cup my cheeks. I didn't answer but my eyes fluttered open. I saw his beautiful ones staring back, full of concern and a breathtaking green.

He sighed in relief when he saw me looking at him. But I just stared for a few moments, and when I didn't answer he leaned forward to kiss me. The warmth of his plump lips wrapped around mine to dispel some of the cold, taking a moment at my top and then at my bottom one.

Then he went back to rubbing my shoulders and brought my head to rest back in the crook of his neck where he kissed my forehead. "It'll be alright, Rose. I'm right here. Ive got you."

I believed him. My breath's became more regular, I was able to take more in. I burrowed  impossibly close to him and realized he was shivering, too. But still warm.

It was when he brought my hands up to his mouth and his breath swept over my fingers again that I got a sentence out. "I'm feeling mu-huch bet-ter."

He smiled and turned my hands over and his, kissing the fingertips. "Good," He said sincerely and continued to work on warming me up.

Eventually, though, I started feeling back to normal. There was still the linger of a deep—set chill, but I could feel my muscles and wriggled my toes and fingers.

"Armpits?" I asked.

"Hmm?" Harry questioned amusedly, looking down to see my expression. I shoved my hand between his sides and his biceps where it was warm and tilted my head so more of my face could nuzzle into his neck. He shattered but a small laugh followed, letting me use his warmth without complaints.

It quieted down, my breath's mostly normal now. I just listen to the pumping of his heart. "I'm sorry." I said with my eyes closed.

"What?" He asked, and I felt his head shift too look down at me. I stayed curled up against him. "No, Rose, it was my fault. I should've made sure you were OK during the night, I'm the one who made you go in that freezing water, I—"
