Demon In The Orchard

Shocking Encounter PT 1

Apple Jack walked through her orchard nervously looking at the trees "Why are they all frostbitten in late spring, if this keeps up Sweet Apple Acres will be in big trouble." Her tail flicked as a chilling breeze ruffled her thinning nearly summer coat making her shiver a little.  She was nervous thinking about the repercussions a lack of crop would have on the family, she didn't want to beg twilight and the others for financial assistance. "Maybe I could build a greenhouse around some of them?" She was lost in thought not noticing a frantic Applebloom running up to her she looked up in surprise as the foal bumped into her leg. She turned in shock and helped her sister up "Applebloom what's got you so worked up?"

"Granny got a telegram for you it's from the Chrystal empire, it came with two royal guards and your friends they say you have to find Rainbow Dash and come as fast as you can to the train station." She replied.

"I thought there was something weird going on alright tell the rest to go on ahead, RD and I will catch up with them." She ran off to find the cyan pegasus. She thought she knew where her best friend might be as her sister ran off to do as she was told. The orange mare chuckles "I bet five bits Big Mac was talked into the hayloft again." Ever since Rainbow and Big mac had started dating they had been attached at the hip and spent every minute they could together they were still a month into dating and they were stuck in the honeymoon phase.  Apple Jack knocked on the barn door "You both had better be decent I'm coming in." She opened the door and nearly cooed to find Dash with her head on Big mac's back and his on her back both ponies fast asleep.

She walked up to them and gently shook Rainbow's shoulder "RD you need to wake up it's an emergency" 

"Mmph~ five more minutes..."The pegasus pouts and snuggled her stallion friend.  

Applejack rolled her emerald eyes and shook her shoulder again "Come on or I'll dump a bucket of cold water on you. We have to catch the train now."

Rainbow and Big Mac groaned neither wanted to wake up but the pegasus, hating cold, wet fur more than her rest being disturbed, sat up ruffling her feathers and stretching a little "AJ this had better be good." She grumbles.

Apple Jack flicked her tail "If we are being called to the Empire immediately with guards to escort us then it's important so, get up." 

"Whoa, guards that's way insane." She leaped to her hooves and Big Mac stood shaking straw out of his fur. "It must be a pretty bad situation I guess we've no time to pack huh."

"Nnnope." Apple Jack imitated her brother's method of responding making him give her a raised brow. She grinned at him "If you want you can come your mare friend might get cold." She teased."

"No, I have a lot of work to do." He shook his head.  "Both of you be careful and dress warm it's cold so far north."
