In a mortal life like ours, where it can end at any moment, we should not be attached to our past.
It doesn't matter if it was a good or bad period of our lives, if those moments marked us or not, the past belongs to the past and forever it must be left behind.
There are many things to see, many things to feel, many people to know and many moments to live.
The past may be the sail that powers your boat or it may be the anchor, it just depends on you.
These words were said by my father when we lived in a small secluded hut in the forest of Artilheim, he looked at the sky while talking to me, a warm smile on his lips and a voice that could calm the most ferocious Borghut. It is with these words that I finally arrived here, now my path is completely free, a new beginning, what will happen I do not know, but I know that I will use everything he and my family taught me and then I will find my place here.
With slow steps, the structures of a medium-sized city approach, as if welcoming their newest visitor.Pulling the cold air with his nostrils and filling his lungs with it, a young woman approaches.
- I'm finally here. She said in a calm voice and full of feelings.
It was exactly one hundred and eighty-nine days since she left her homeland to get here, she traveled for a long time only with what she had managed to bring in her faithful backpack, of course she stopped in several cities and villages along the way so she could get means to finance her trip.
- I need to go quickly to the city hall to register, if I'm not mistaken it should be close to closing time.
She said to herself as she picked up the pace to get there faster, her clothes were very simple, a dark blue sleeveless dress made of light cotton that extended to the middle of her thighs, dark green pants also made of the same materials that covered all her legs, on her feet she wore ragged cloth shoes and tied her hair in a big braid that reached up to the middle of her hips. Her hair had an unusual mix, some of the strands were red like a well-worked ruby and others were brown like the bark of a young tree. Her skin was very well tanned like a farmer who had been working on his harvest day after day for years and her eyes were a very dark green.
Passing by locals without hitting any of them, expressions of surprise took over the streets that started to get increasingly crowded. Many were astonished by her agility and dexterity, others paid attention to the clothes, but most observed the natural features that were rare in that region.
The blue sky was gradually tinged with orange announcing that the night was approaching, she tightened her pace even more and saw what the city hall would be. It was funny how all the city halls looked like, they were never the largest building or the most well-designed, but the oldest and that no matter the passage of time it was just renovated and expanded when necessary. They were usually made of not very worked wood, after all, they were the first buildings to be built in a city.
She dodged two people before rushing into the town hall and with a loud sigh caught the attention of a middle-aged man who was behind a long, rustic wooden counter.
- Please, are you still working or am I too late?
She said with a sweat on her face and a friendly smile.
- Hunf, yes you arrived on time I was already getting ready to go home. Said the man in a thick voice probably affected by his age, he had no hair on his head, but proudly displayed a voluptuous mustache that covered the entire width of his plucked cheeks.
- If you want to go to rest there is no problem, I can come tomorrow.
- Nonsense! I am working and my job is to help all those who need the services of the city. What's your name girl? He asked in an aggressive tone but without malice.
