Ragini's POV:
Everyone who knew me personally alerted me. They said that my boyfriend is having an affair. But I was so blind. Sightless in something called LOVE. And that very something directed me here today. I'm sitting near the dead-end of the cliff that we came together all these years. This spot is where he arranged so many damn things to propose to me.
The way they showed up to me and just informed me they love each other was like slapping me right on my face. It hurt. It hurt so much that I didn't even realize I had tears flowing down through my cheeks until somebody grabbed my hands and dropped me back on my home. For some odd reason, my room suffocated me, unlike every normal day.
Past ( authors POV):
" I, Sanskar Batra, hereby announces that there will be no other girl other than you in my life. My life... My love! My Ragini" he said kneeling down with a red rose in his hands.
" Say yes! Say yes" echoed across the campus corridor.
" Yes!" Ragini replied still shocked at the sudden proposal from her childhood best friend Sanskar.
Ragini secretly developed a huge crush on her best friend a few years back. And suppressed it in her heart and didn't have the guts to just confess. She was so afraid of losing him. And by him, he was Ragini's everything. From late-night calls to her little secrets, everything!
From that day, they were inseparable. The young hot couple was madly in love. Getting inside the classroom hand in hand, stealing kisses from Ragini, Sanskar never failed to make her smile but now... Only if she knew earlier... Only if she didn't trust him so blindly.
Ragini figured out something was wrong with Sanskar after he disclosed his new friend whom he met in a dating app. Two things confused her. One: why did he still have an account in a dating app. Two: why did he first say that they met on Instagram and suddenly one day had a tongue slip about the dating app. It confused her. Deep inside, she couldn't accept that the lover of her dreams was cheating on her. So she smiled even though deep inside she felt melancholy and alone!
Back to the present: Ragini's POV
" You are trusting him too much Ragini. I swear on my mother that I saw sankskar in the cafe and I followed him and I saw them kissing." He said to me that day. He warned me. Now that I remember that, it hurts me like shit! What's happening!
With tears rolling down my eyes, after hours, my eyes felt too heavy. Too heavy to open up to stare at the ceiling of my room. I turned my head searching for a distraction. I rushed to my fishbowl. My goldfish is dead, floating on the surface. The dead one was Shiku and the female fish swam around the now-dead mate and hit him several times to wake up. With tears still rolling down my wet cheeks, I took the small net from the table and took the dead fish out. With one last glance at the female fish swimming alone restlessly, I took the dead fish outside. Just like the fish, I'm dead, inside! (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)
Ragini is lost. Lost in her thoughts. Lost in her own world suffering from depression after the very incident!
