What?

Peko Pekoyama had always been confused about those words ever since she's known how to read.
She didn't know what the words meant. The only thing she knew about the words was that her alleged soulmate would say that to her, and that would be their first words to her.
And even now, as a high schooler, she had no clue what it meant.

She had asked multiple people, but they were either extremely confused, or didn't explain to her.
Including the person most closest to her, her best friend, Fuyuhiko.

He had said to her, "This is what your soulmate will say first to you? Well, you'll definitely know who it is."
She didn't know what the words meant, so she had also asked him about that as well.
He had only replied, "Um... it's nothing. It's just a weird way to say words, that's it."

That was the best explanation she had gotten from someone, but it still barely made any sense at all.
She thought about it a lot, her mind drifting off to who this 'soulmate' might be.
Was it a boy? Was it a girl? Was it someone in between? Was it neither? She didn't know.
It was also someone who was quite eccentric, to say the least.

Peko didn't really have any expectations for who this person may be, except the fact they are probably an interesting person.

She thought about her soulmate a lot, wondering what they might be doing or what kind of things they were into.
Did they live around the area? Does Peko know them, but never talked to them before?
She had a lot of questions.

Of course, she went to her only friend, Fuyuhiko.

"Hey Peko, what's going on?" Fuyuhiko asked.
"I just... have a few questions about my soulmate. That's all" Peko muttered.
"You're still going on about that? But I can try to help you." He said to her.

He led her into his house, as she began to speak her mind.
"So, what's bothering you?" Fuyuhiko questioned.
"I was just wondering if you knew any interesting characters that could be my soulmate." Peko spoke.
"Peko, I'm not completely sure. I don't know that much people in general, and sure as hell I know I won't go near any people who say stuff like that." He scowled.
"Oh... okay." Peko murmured.
"Peko, we also don't know when your soulmate may come. It can be when you walk out of here, or it could be in years from now. They'll come whenever the time is right." Fuyuhiko tried to reassure her.

Peko knew that Fuyuhiko didn't really like reassuring people, but she also knew that they were very close friends and that he would try to help her, and she would try to do the same.

So, she knew he meant well, and she appreciated that.

She also just hoped that she will find her soulmate some time soon, because she was urgent to find this person.
