Only You - Matthew Perryman Jones
*i would recommend listening to the song while reading this*

James - How can I forget you
The memories come and go

James bit his lip, fighting tears, as he scrolled through the pictures on his phone. Every single one brought back an old memory of you two, and opened old wounds. He swore his heart skipped a beat when he got to the picture he took on his 15th birthday of you two. "James, stop!" You squealed as you ran away from him, panting out of breath. He continued chasing you, until you ran out of energy and sat down on the grass. He sat down next to you, panting as well. You held out your hand and said, "truce?" He smiled, and took your hand in his, shaking it. Suddenly, the smiles faded, and you were left in a tense silence. James glanced at your lips, and slowly leaned in. You were a 15 year old awkward girl at the time, never even knowing your best friend of 10 years would even think of having feelings for you. So what did you do, you pushed him flat on his back and ran back inside his house. James chuckled to himself, and shook his head, muttering something about happy birthday to himself. James clicked his iPhone lock and fell back onto his bed. He couldn't believe you were really gone. Of course, it was his fault, but he felt a right to be a little bit angry at you. Doesn't everyone deserve a second chance?

Casey - You're all I've ever wanted
You're all I've ever known

You and Casey had been together for as long as he could remember. Primary school at least. He hadn't known anything or anybody else in his whole life. The thought of being with someone else scared the living daylights out of him, because the only person he felt comfortable with is you. He typed in your number (he had memorized it by now) and made his finger click the green call button. The familiar automated voicemail message sounded throughout the room, having the call on speaker phone, and he sighed and put his phone on the bedside table once again.

Barclay - Can I be happy
Living with your ghost?

He felt the breeze rush past him and he sighed heavily, putting his head in his hands. The images of you and him flashed through his mind, and he shook his head, ridding it of all thoughts of the two of you. He couldn't stand what he was doing, and he knew he was just too toxic for you. So he let you go. He didn't want to--not in the slightest. But he knew that he couldn't continue hurting you the way he was. His guilty conscious of how he hurt you was eating him alive and he didn't know how much longer he could bear it.

Tom - The pictures tell the story
I took them off the wall

Tom knew he had to get over you. You had cheated on him for Pete's sake. After he found out, he couldn't face the fact that you could do something like that after you promised you would love him until the very end. The pictures on his wall in his bedroom symbolized your love and memories. He ripped them all down, one by one. He cut them to pieces with scissors and threw them in the trash. Just like you did to his heart.

Chris - I could start it over
And find somebody new

He glanced across the room and met a pair a pair of green eyes, and they seemed to follow every move he made. The green eyes came closer and closer to him until they were sitting beside him, accompanied with red lips and brown hair. The green eyed girl's lips formed into a smirk and then a smile. "You have really pretty eyes," he said. The green eyed girl smiled at him and all at once he saw the similarities to a girl he was once--still in love with. Her eyes had flecks of brown (or whatever color your eyes are) in them which reminded him of yours, her lips were full like yours, her legs were long like yours, her waist was small like yours, and she crossed her arms like you always did. "Thank you, Chris. Chris right?" She asked. "Yeah. Your name?" He asked. "Anna," she said, smiling.

Jake - But if you ask me,
Would that love be true?

He sat awake in his bed, feeling a presence on the other side. He looked over and saw his current girlfriend, Katherine, sleeping. He turned away from her, closed his eyes, and pretended as if she was (Y/N). He couldn't get her out of his head. He always felt bad for Katherine, because he knew he didn't love her. He knew it. He only loved you. But he would feel lonely without anyone, so he settled for her. It sounds horrible, but he doesn't care. He wants (Y/N) back.

Charlie - Do you even think of me at all?

Everyone told him he was stupid for falling in love at 14. They told him love would never last at his age. He didn't listen, because he honestly didn't even know what love was at the time. He didn't know he was falling. He didn't know he would never be able to love properly again. He didn't know she would have caused him this much pain. He didn't know how much his heart would hurt. He didn't know what falling in love felt like. Well now he does, and now he knows why people call it falling. You don't know when you're going to land, and you can't go back. And falling is not a good thing.

Reece - There's no one else for me
But you
Only you

Reece had never felt this way before. He felt like a glass splinter had made it's way into his heart and would tear it every time he breathed. His hands were shaky and his breath was uneven. Tears pooled in his eyes and a gigantic lump appeared in his throat. When he got the devastating news that you were gone he lost it. He hasn't spoken to anyone in weeks. He stares at the grey chunk of rock and lets his fingers trace over the words carved into the slab of stone. He erupts into sobs, pulls at his blonde hair, and tucks his legs under him. He places a single white rose on your grave and simply states, "it's always been you. Only you."
