Kirishima has always been a positive person. Through every situation, every hardship, and every other moment of his life he has tried his best to stay upbeat and manly, always looking for the silver lining no matter how dark the world around him gets. But there's one thing that's always threatened to bring his light mood down. One thing that tends to darken his world of sunlight. His soulmark.

Everyone else seems to have a soulmark that defines their soulmate: some have a mark that matches a tattoo, or an object of importance, or a countless array of other marks that so easily allow them to find the one they're meant to be with. Kirishima's soulmark is different. It isn't an intricate design, or a major part of someone's life. No. His soulmark is a small, basic looking explosion.

Of course he had to be that unlucky.

But, as more and more of his friends found their soulmates in middle school and even early high school at UA, Kirishima made a decision: he'd find his soulmate, no matter what.

"Kirishima? Kiri? Shark boy? Hello?" Kaminari finally snaps Kirishima out of his thoughts. "You good bro?"

Kirishima refocuses his gaze onto the face of his concerned friend. "Yeah, bro," Kirishima laughs, "just should've gotten more sleep last night. I spent too much time training."

"I didn't even have time to train last night! Jirou and I had a date at the ice cream parlor down the road, and you wanna know how amazing it was?"

"How amazing?"

"Super, crazy, awesomely amazing! I swear, that girl is the most beautiful, prefect person I've ever met. No offense, bro."

"None taken." Kirishima grins as widely as he can muster, but that touch of sadness tugs him down. Denki found his soulmate so easily. His mark was an electric guitar with two aux cords surrounding it, and hers a thumbs-up with bolts of lightning streaking around it. The second they saw each other's marks they knew. All Kirishima has is a crush that could never become reality.

Kaminari doesn't seem to notice. "Now all that's gotta happen is for you to find your soulmate. But you're an amazing dude! I'm sure it won't take long."

"Thanks Denki." Even if Kirishima doesn't have his soulmate just yet, at least he's got some amazing friends. He could never doubt that.

"Oi, Shitty Hair," Bakugou's voice surprises both Kirishima and Kaminari. "My room after dinner. Bring some snacks." A quiet smile takes over his face.

"Sounds good, Bakubro!"

"Told you not to call me that." Before Kirishima can respond, Bakugou has already passed through the common area and into the hallway leading to the dorm rooms. A slight blush warms Kirishima's cheeks, and a soft smile lifts his face.

Kaminari looks at him suspiciously. "What's going on between you two?"

"What?" Kirishima shakes his head and lightly hits the palms of his hands against his cheeks. "Nothing, we're just bros!"

"But I mean, he never wants to hang out with anyone. Ever. I mean, I'm in the Bakusquad and I'm barely around that dude when we're not at school. But with you, he wants to chill like every night. Plus you were just blushing cause you talked to him. So spill." His lips curve up into a smug smile as he finishes speaking.

Kirishima brings his hands up to cover his face. "Is it really that obvious?"

"Ha! I knew it! You better spill that tea bro!"

"Well, I kind of might maybe have a tiny crush on him." A blush far brighter than the last burns on his face as Denki's expression brightens into one of shock. "Okay, it might be a little more than that. But it's not like he's my soulmate, so it can't go anywhere."
