Chapter 3: His New Neighbor

After the three month training period, he got to move into his new apartment. When he first got there his neighbor exited his apartment, well one of them. His name? Kakashi Hatake. Kakashi looks at the three ANBU, and notices Naruto. But he doesn't comment on that. He says, "Hello Dragon-sama, Tenzo. This must be my new neighbor, right?"

Kakashi has a strong resemblance to his father, so much so that they are sometimes mistaken for each other: he has spiky silver hair often oriented to his left-side, dark grey eyes, and typically a relaxed and lazy expression. During the Third Shinobi World War, his left eye was damaged, leaving a vertical scar from the injury. The eye was shortly afterwards replaced with a Sharingan, which he covers with his hitai-ate when he isn't using it. Since early childhood and near-constantly, he wears a mask that prevents most of his face from being visible.

Kakashi wears Konoha's standard infantry clothing: a flak jacket, dark blue pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. He also wears fingerless gloves with metal plates on the backhand and is seen with a chain necklace underneath.

Dragon replies, "He is, and as you can tell, his codename is Fox. He is the newest recruit of Team Ro."

Naruto asks, "Who's this Tenzo-taichou?"

Tenzo answers, "That is Kakashi Hatake, who went by Inu. He was the former Captain of Team Ro, he was the captain right before I was. Isn't that right, Kakashi-senpai?"

Kakashi nods, and says, "Fox, do my former unit proud." He then heads out... To ya know, have a talk with the Hokage. So as Naruto was acclimating himself with his new apartment, Kakashi enters the Hokage's office. When the Sandaime sees Kakashi enter his office, he asks, "How are you on this fine day, Kakashi-san?"

Kakashi answers, "I'm fine, but why is Naruto a member of the ANBU Black Ops?"

Hiruzen just sighs, and replies, "I knew you'd find out. I just didn't think it would be so soon. So how did you find out?"

Kakashi answers, "He just moved in the apartment between mine, and Gai's."

Hiruzen just nods, and says, "Three months ago, Naruto tried to graduate from the Academy, but failed."

Kakashi looks shocked, and asks, "Then how is he in the ANBU Black Ops, if he failed?"

Hiruzen answers, "After he failed, the traitor, and former Academy-sensei Mizuki tricked him into stealing the Scroll of Seals for him. Saying that if he learn one technique, Naruto would be a Genin. So Naruto did it, and the Chunin, Jounin, nor the the ANBU could find him for eight hours. In that eight hours, Naruto learned four jutsu: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique), Taju Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, Bunshin Daibakuha (Clone Great Explosion), and Ninpō: Tamashī no Ryūshutsu (Ninja Art: Soul Drain). Naruto also used the last technique on Mizuki."

Kakashi then asks, "So a nine year old Academy student steals the Forbidden Scroll of Seals, and learns four jutsu in eight hours: one being a B-Rank, two being an A-Rank, and another one being an S-Rank Kinjutsu. Is that right?"

Hiruzen answers, "That is correct?"

Kakashi asks, "So... Can I train him?"

Hiruzen answers, "He is usually off on Sundays. Oh, and he knows of his parents. Anyway, today is Sunday, is it not?"

Kakashi thinks about it, and looks at his watchless wrist for a moment. He replies, "And look at the time. I really must be going. Good day to you too, Hokage-sama." The Hatake then Shunshins back to his home.

Dragon then walks out from the shadows of the office, and says, "He took that surprisingly well."

Hiruzen just nods, and gets back to work. After Dragon leaves in a Shunshin, he says, "That he did, Dragon. That he did."

Kakashi then reappears next to his front door. He walks to Naruto's apartment next door, and knocks on the door. From inside, Kakashi hears Naruto, who yells, "IT'S OPEN!"

So Kakashi opens the door, to see Naruto reading a small book. Naruto, without looking up from the book asks, "Hello Kakashi-senpai, what do I owe the pleasure?"

Kakashi answers, "Well... I know who you are, Naruto. Seeing as I watched over you as an ANBU on occasion, and being a student of your Tou-san. I thought that I would like to train you in some things, like: Ninjutsu, and tracking."

Naruto looks up from his book, and says, "Sure, Kashi-nii. I'd love to be trained by you, but I am going to be watching over a new family that from Kiri, who escaped during the Bloodline Purge. They are due here early in the morning tomorrow. Seeing as they wrote ahead."

Kakashi replies, "That's fine, seeing as I'll only be able to train you on Sunday, and seeing as today is Sunday. I thought I'd teach you the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). So whenever Sunday hits, just send a Kage Bunshin to me, okay?"

Naruto just nods, as they walk to a training ground. Once there, Kakashi says, " To do the Kuchiyose no Jutsu, one must first draw some blood. Most shinobi do so by biting their thumb. After that you do these hand seals. Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram. Once the hand seals are done you smack your hand to the ground, and your summon appears."

In a puff of smoke, a small pug-like dog appears. The pug has brown fur and a dark brown snout and ears. He has pink-coloured paws and wears the standard outfit of Kakashi's ninken which consists of a blue vest with the heno-heno-moheji seal and a Konoha hitai-ate, which his is worn on top of his head.

The pug looks around, and sees Kakashi. He asks, "Hello Kakashi. I'm just wondering, but why have I been summoned?"

Kakashi answers, "Hello to you too, Pakkun. I was just wondering if my Otōto, Naruto over there could be able to summon you. If that is okay?"

Pakkun thinks it over, and asks, "Is that Minato-sama's kid?"

Kakashi answers, "Yes it is, Pakkun."

Pakkun weaves some hand seals, and a scroll appears. The pug opens the scroll, and says, "Sign your name here, in blood, and then place your finger prints under your name. Then you will be able to summon us."

Pakkun then reverse summons himself, along with the scroll. Kakashi then says, "Try it."

Naruto then bite his thumb, and does a string of hand seals. Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram. He whispers, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!"

In a puff of smoke a dog appears. The dog has light grey fur with a white underside and a black crest on his head reminiscent of a mohawk. His eyes are round and have dark markings above them. He also wears the standard outfit of Kakashi's ninken which consists of a blue vest with the heno-heno-moheji seal and a Konoha hitai-ate around his neck and bandages on his front legs.

Kakashi then says, "Hello Shiba this is Naruto, or Fox during missions. He is your new Summoner."

Shiba replies, "I've heard as such from Pakkun. If he, and you trust him, so do I. Oh, Pakkun told me that he is ready for Sage Mode training whenever he is ready to do so." The dog then reverse summons himself.

Naruto then asks, "What is Sage Mode?"

Kakashi answers, "Sage Mode is an empowered state that can be entered by blending natural energy with one's chakra, creating senjutsu chakra. Sage Mode allows users to tap into the natural force of the world, opening up new techniques to them and allowing them to power up existing ones with the new senjutsu chakra. Sadly, I do not have the chakra reserves for it."

Naruto then looks to the sky, and sees that it is dark. He says, "Well I guess I'm going home. Good bye, Kakashi-nii."
