Duffel bag, backpack, wallet? Yes. All there. Check check and check. The gray and brown bags sat neatly on Harmonys bed. Two dimly lit candles on her dresser being the only thing providing light to the room. Suddenly, a gentle pattern of two knocks fell upon the large oak doors. Harmony frantically grabbed the bags and threw them into her large closet, shutting it quickly.
"Come in!" She sang, settling into a natural sitting position on her king sized bed. Her mother opened the door and walked in with a smile.
"I just wanted to say goodnight." The older women in the door way said, quirking her head to the right as she spoke. "Big day tomorrow. You need your beauty sleep."
Oh god was Harmony aware of the "big day". Coronation. From a girl to a women. The princess to the queen. One of the many reasons she was leaving that night. What were the other reasons you may ask? The decision was partially made on impulse but also the fact that she'd been hurt one too many times at the castle. As soon as she had heard the gossip that the second generation of the crew of Lady Melete were heading out to finish what their parents never could, she began to plan her final escape. Hopefully it would be an easier journey than she anticipated. Rough waters and an easy upset-able stomach didn't seem like the best match, but Harmony was willing to try anything.
"I know, Mom. I'm heading to bed now." Harmony responded, giving her mother a small reassuring smile. She prayed that the crew on the ship would at least accept her as one of them. After she reveals herself that is. No where in her plan did it mention befriending the crew and getting an invite on board. Her only plan? Sneak on when everybody else does and settle in at the lowest point of the ship, where people are least likely to visit. Harmony's mother placed a old, gentle hand on her face to clear her bangs and left a small kiss on her forehead.
"Sleep well." She smiled, blowing out the candles on her dresser and closing the large doors with a crash.
This was going to be a long night for Harmony.
