"Ok love you babes talk tomorrow!" Maya said as she kissed the camera goodbye. Maya had been my best friend, my rock since as long as I can remember. We've been best friends for forever and if never change it. Tomorrow was the day, La day.
Here's a back story: me and maya live in North Carolina and haven't ever really travelled much. But we're 17 and 18 and need a vacay! So we decided to do just that. Tomorrow marks the day that me and maya travel to La for the first time. We're both so excited because just us to alone in a new state will be so much fun.
It was 11:23 pm and I still had a few things to pack so I watched TVD on Netflix while I cleaned and packed my bags ready for our flight at 11am. Before I knew it it was 1:30 in the morning and I had finished packing. I went down stairs to get a snack before going to bed and found my mom in the kitchen on her phone.

Y: "hey mom what's up"
M: "oh hey sweetie I thought you were sleeping?"
Y: " no just finished packing"
M: "ok I'm going to be bed goodnight honey"
Y "love you mom"
I walked upstairs and heard a faint cry from the bathroom. As I got closer I realised it was my baby brother. Well he's seven but he's still a baby to me.
Y: "jay what's wrong"
J: "I - I'm gonna miss you"
You see my dad left when jay was 2 so it's been me and mom looking after him for 5 years plus mom works a full time job so isn't home until late and gone early so I've been a big influence on jay for as long as he could remember.
Y: " jay don't be sad I'll be home in 3 weeks it's not that long"
J: "I know but like who's gonna make me tater tots like you do "
Y: "I'll send mom a step by ste guide"
J: "ok" he said as a small smile lit his face.
Y: " would you like to sleep in my room tonight? We can watch toy story?"
J: "yes please"
He said as I took his small hand and placed it in mine guiding him to my room.
I picked him up and sat him in my bed as I tickled him causing him to laugh historically.
After watching about half of the movie he was out and It was just too cute so I took a photo and posted it to my Instagram story (btw you have like 150k insta followers and 726k tiktok followers).

The next morning I woke up to my brother laying in my arms asleep. He honestly was so cute and it made me a sad to leave him but it was only for a couple weeks.
After 20 minutes on my phone I realised it was 10am and my flight was at 3.
Y: "jj wake up buddy" I said slightly rocking him
We woke up and gave me the biggest hug ever.
J: "I really don't want you to leave me" he said sadly
Y: "don't worry I'll call everyday"
A couple hours passed and maya had been FaceTiming while we did the last touches of packing.

Y: "coming, remember we're picking up maya"
M: "yep so let's go come on don't wanna miss your flight do you?"
And then before I knew it we were halfway to the airport...
