"cheers!" hobi laughed, far too loud and far too drunk after only one drink. he slung his arm around yoongi's shoulders, pulling the smaller male into his side. "we won!"

seokjin wrinkled his nose in disgust. "your breath smells horrible, hoseokie. what are you drinking?"

he laughed again.

"i don't know!"

at the other end of the table, namjoon was deep in conversation with soobin, pointing at something on the menu and then at his phone. the other four freshmen crowded around them.

jeongguk sat quietly in the middle, sipping his beer and just watching his teammates. the match had been difficult. each and every one of them had pushed themselves past their limits. the middle blocker could still feel his heart pounding in his chest. although maybe that was for something other than volleyball.

across from him was jimin, his cheeks flushed from alcohol and happiness. taehyung said something that caused him to throw his head back and laugh. his fluffy pink hair framed his face perfectly, and the light coat of lip gloss he'd applied made his lips look even plumper and softer than usual. he was so stunning.

as hoseok's shrill laugh pierced his ears, jeongguk decided it was best for him to step outside for a bit. his hyung would eventually quiet down after another drink or two. he could feel jimin's eyes following him as he stood up and left but thought nothing of it.

jeongguk reveled in the feeling of the cold air against his skin, wind buffering against his face. seoul at night had always been calming to him. the buildings illuminated by lights, the cars rushing by, the sounds of the nightlife... he truly loved his city with all of his heart.

"it's beautiful, right?"

he turned, jimin smiling softly up at him. he was still wearing jeongguk's jacket.

"it is. i may not have been raised here, but seoul is my home."

"you're not from here?" jimin questioned.

jeongguk shook his head.

"busan," he admitted, letting his satoori slip through. "although it is incredible there too. watching the sun rise over the beach and-"

"-smelling the salty breeze in the morning," jimin finished.

the taller blinked in surprise.

"you too?"

jimin nodded.

"i came here because my dance teacher told me i'd have really good chances here. and i did. i got accepted into the dance program at snu, and entertainment companies are already scouting me to be a choreographer."

he suddenly moved to stand in front of jeongguk, gazing up at him.

"but i think that best thing that happened because i moved here," jimin said quietly, "was meeting the team. and especially you."

jeongguk couldn't take it anymore. surging forward, he pressed his lips against jimin's, gripping his hips and pulling their bodies flush against each other. the smaller male responded with enthusiasm. he made pleased noises and wrapped his arms around jeongguk's neck.

it was a bit awkward at first as they tried to discover what they both liked, but when they parted and jeongguk saw jimin's blissful expression, he knew he wouldn't have changed a thing.

"i like you," he breathed, resting his forehead against the other's.

"i know. i like you too."

grin stretching across his face, jeongguk leaned forward and kissed jimin again.
