While knowing what he has always said Joshua Matthews allowed himself to fall in love with the beautiful, young Maya Hart.
Her age has always been a problem for him and eventually he gave up with trying to convince her.

Maya and Josh were sitting on the beach enjoying the last few minutes of their time alone. Strange enough, Maya has felt more like herself with Josh than with Riley and she doesn't even know if she will ever feel that way with her.
"You know it's strange that I feel so comfortable with you but with your niece it's different," Maya said. "Yeah. But maybe she is just pressuring you too much. You know, that you really just want that little peace and quiet every once in a while," Josh said. "Even if I have to say it myself... This wasn't bad for a first date. Thank you. I really did enjoy myself," Maya said. "Anytime. You deserve the best," Josh said and pulled out a box.
Maya looked at him before opening the box finding a ring close to her promise ring to Riley in.

"Promise ring," Maya said laughing as Josh put it on her finger. "I want you to know from now on am I always there," Josh said and Maya nod. "Let's head back," Josh said.
