Abandoned with a curse

I climbed out my window and landed gracefully on my feet. I threw my suitcase off the roof, and went running off and took a leap, I spread my arms and closed my eyes, and as I was about to hit the snow I bent my knees to lessen the impact, I hit the snow softly and got up as I shook the snow off, I looked around and there was about 5 inches of snow, swing set with the plastic slide attached, and all the toys I played with over the summer, the pool was covered with a tarp, I'm going to miss this, I thought, my eyes started to sting, but I knew I couldn't cry , I was a changed person, I'm not a little girl anymore.

I grabbed my suitcase and headed for the street, I pulled out the handle and started off in a sprint, I have to sleep somewhere tonight, I have to go to Riley's, she's the only one that will understand, I hope.

        I threw my suitcase on her roof and leaped up. I walked over to her window, I peered inside with my hands over my head, she was playing a game on her computer, I tapped on her window and she span around quickly, her wide grey eyes were huge, I smiled and waved, and smiled,

She held her throat and laughed at herself, she walked over to the window and looked at me, and then she undid the latch and lifted the window up.

"Hi, uh could I stay here tonight?" I asked nervously

"You know you could. Come on its freezing outside." She said rubbing her shoulders.

I jumped in and went to lay on her bed with my head off the side

"Could I trust you, that what I'm about to tell you that you won't go and tell my parents or yours?" I asked eyeing her.

"Sure" she said sitting back on her chair

I flipped over to stand up making my dark brown hair fall over my eyes, I swung my head to the side and pushed my hair out.

I took a deep breath and the words I practiced came out in a rush "I ran away from home"

Her eyes went wide and she looked shocked

"Why! What did they do to you?" she said as she grabbed my shoulders.

"Ow and nothing, I did it, my choice" I said as I peeled her grip off my shoulders.

"They don't deserve me, a freak" I said keeping my voice low, pacing.

"I can't leave this burden on them, if and when they find out, they will throw me away like trash, so I have to start a different life, okay? And I would like you to help me"

I said as I stopped and stared at her.

"Olivia, you can't just throw your life away, like you don't have a future" she said almost yelling

"I'm not throwing my life away, I'm beginning a new one" I said trying to sound reasonable.

"Fine, but don't that means leaving you old life, school, parent, friends. Are you sure?" she said sitting back on her chair.

"I know, but I need to change my look, I'm think blonde hair, new clothes, Riley I thought this through" I said this time bending over and shaking her small shoulders.

"Fine, but we can't do anything tonight, when morning comes, we will get everything we need. Moms gone to work, while Ben will just stay in his room playing games all day." She said while heading to her closet,

She came back with two thick blankets and one fluffy pillow, all pink. EW

She threw them on the ground and bent down to set them up after about one minute she stood up.
