The Team's Gem (The A-Team x OC)

Memories

It was a late Thursday night, yet Hannibal wanted the team to meet up.

"Gem, come on. Hannibal's called a team meeting." B.A. knocks on the girl's room door. No reply. "Gem?" B.A. gently cracks the door open, peering in. Her room lights were on, but she was nowhere to be seen. B.A. looks at the window and finds it open. The man walks to it and looks out. A small figure on the roof catches his eye. B.A. climbs through the window and walks over to her. He sits down next to Amber. After a few moments of silence, he speaks up.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"I guess so..." Amber says softly. B.A. notices her wavy tone.

"Amber, look at me." He says. Amber obeys, looking up at the man. Her blue eyes were red and puffy, tears drying on her cheeks. "Gem, what's wrong?"

"I...I was trying to remember my parents." Amber says, averting her eyes. "Why can't I remember what they look like?"

"I don't know, Gem. I don't know what they look like either and you've told me that you were left by yourself for as long as you can remember. It's harder to remember things from being young." B.A. states.

"But I should at least see something of them, right? Like a smile, or a facial expression, or...something." Amber pulls her knees to her chin. "I want to miss them, B.A., but I can't. How can you miss someone you can't remember?" B.A. reaches over and pulls Amber close.

"I never knew my father." He states.

"I'm sorry." Amber says.

"It's not your fault. I just hated knowing that he must be out there, but I could never see him or talk to him. It was really frustrating, knowing that there has to be someone there, but you don't know who they are." B.A. says. He had never really been open about his childhood before, but this was Amber. He could trust her with his life.

"So I know how you feel. You're not alone in this." Amber smiles and hugs the man.

"Thank you, B.A." B.A. returns the hug, smiling.

"Now, how about we go meet up with the team?" He asks, standing up.

"Last one downstairs is a rotten egg!"
