Rachel POV
I was just getting done with practice, I was tired and hungry. I reached into my gym bag and grabbed my phone only to realize I had a missed call from Genevieve. I heard my phone ring again and caller ID was Genevieve, my best friend since preschool. As I picked up the phone all I heard was static in her background , I tried saying hello but she never answered so I hung up. After I hung up the phone, I saw the red flash on top of my battery life. Crap I said , just my luck right?
Genevieve POV
Hey mom I'm going to pick up Rachel be back in a bit. I hurried and grab the keys off the kitchen table and left the house. I reach into my pocket and pulled out my phone and called Rachel to let her know I was on my way. "Hey it's Rachel sorry I couldn't get to the phone right now but if you leave your name and number I promise to get back to you." She must be still in practice I thought and I put my phone on the seat next to me. 20 minutes into the drive it was a guy in the middle of the road so I slammed on my breaks inches for touching him. I was hesitate at first to get out but I had to make sure if he was okay. I walked over towards him and I saw blood dripping from his arm and head and he was whispering something I didn't quite understand. Hey do you need help I asked but he still kept whispering something. I got closer to him then all the sudden he grabs my arm and yell "Beware of the darkness, Beware of the darkness!" He looked frighten, even more than I was. I pulled away from his strong grip and got in my car as fast as I could.
Rachel POV
As I started to walk home I kept hearing something , it was weird and I started to feel creep out. I decided to go towards the noise just to make sure nobody was messing with me. As I grew closer to the woods the noise became softer. Hello? I asked hoping for someone to answer and pop out of the woods just for a good laugh but they didn't and I was getting scared. I felt as if something was following me or someone , I really got scared at this point so I ran and ran until I tripped on a tree log. I got back up , my forehead was bleeding but out of the corner of my eye I saw it. It transformed backed into a human, but was I hallucinating from the scratch on my head. It started to walk towards me, I tried to move but I was so scared I couldn't move. At this point we were seeing eye to eye. I couldn't breathe I was so scared and just like that I black out.
