Live or die? (Nalu)

1: Love.

(Lucy is 25 in this series and Natsu is 26 and they are both married.)

Lucy was laying on her back looking at the ceiling on her comfy king sized bed. While Natsu was laying on his right side next to her falling asleep. But Lucy wasn't tired as she had a thought in her mind that has been bugging her for months and months.

She sighed and looked to the right to see Natsu's sleeping face. She smiled as his salmon pink hair was slightly covering his eye and had a small smile on his face. Probably thinking about food she thought and giggled a bit.

She finally had the guts to say what has been on her mind and spoke hoping he was awake, "umm Natsu you awake?" Natsu nodded a little and hummed to show he's awake but sleepy.

"This might be out of the blue but umm y'know... Have you ever thought about having kids?"

Natsu's eyes shot open 10 seconds later as he processed the question his wife just asked and quickly sat up looking down at Lucy with shock and confusion in his eyes. Natsu kept blinking as he didn't even know what to think or what to say.

"What did you just say?" He asked after a long time of thinking which made Lucy nervous and feel stupid even asking that question now.

"N-nothing. It doesn't matter now. It's stupid. You can go back to sleep now." She sighed and moved to her left side facing away.

He was staring at Lucy's lose, long golden, blonde hair that was brighter than the sun. He made a quiet deep breath and slowly moved her hair away from her neck and kissed her neck softly.

"Yeah. Yeah I would love to have a child. I was just a little shocked. Sorry. But yeah, I do. Don't worry." He replied and kissed her neck again and smiled as he saw a smile appear on her face. He layed down on his left rubbing her right arm slowly and lovingly and cuddled her. "Goodnight." He said before they both fell asleep.

Next morning!

Morning came and Natsu shot up quickly waking up sweating, screaming and tears coming down his face.

Lucy heard it and quickly sat up scared and looked at Natsu and put her hands on his shoulders looking at his face. "Natsu What's wrong?"

Natsu looked around seeing their room realising he's back to reality and looked at Lucy and hugged her tightly not saying anything. He slowly calmed down and stopped crying. "You're okay... You're okay... You're okay..."

"Was it a nightmare? Whatever it was it's not real. It's just a dream. It won't come true."

He hugged her tighter like she was going to disappear and he didn't want that to happen. Well of course he doesn't. "I sure hope it doesn't come true."

Lucy felt really bad so she rubbed his back to calm him down. "Are you okay? You wanna tell me what the dream was about?"

There was just silence for a minute and then Natsu nodded and spoke, "No... I just want to forget about it."

Lucy nodded accepting his answer and got out of bed. "Well I know a way to make you forget." Lucy smiled brightly looking at him. "I'll make you pancakes shaped liked dragons. Just the way you like them." Lucy got happy knowing she was going to make her husband happy because he loves his pancakes like that because it reminds him of his dead father who used to tell him dragon stories as a child. But... Lucy was wrong...

"I don't want kids..."

Lucy's heart began to beat loudly and it felt like it sank to the bottom. She felt like something was strangling her neck tightly and she began to cry. Tears streaming down her face faster than a water fall. Her knees began to feel weak and wobbled like jelly and she fell down crying.

Natsu was shocked at her reaction and his eyes widened and he got out off bed and touched her shoulder to hug her but she slapped his hand out of the way crying and glared at him. Her eyes all red and swollen a bit from the tears.

She screamed at him, "DON'T TOUCH ME!!!" She got up and ran out of her room and ran to the bathroom and locked the door and put her back against the door and slid down it and sat down. She brought her knees to her shoulders and wrapped her arms around her legs. Putting her head on her knee caps and crying even more.

She didn't know what to do. She was hurt. It's not like he broken up with her or anything. But... they're married... married for 3 years... now she knows he seriously doesn't want kids just makes her heart ache. If he never even wants one child then is there even going to be a future? Does he not love her the way she loves him?

She has always wanted children when she was a child. She knows it's weird but she even thought of names for them hoping she'd have kids. She has also only wanted children with the man she fully loved and knew she loved and knew she would spend the rest of her life with. She found Natsu and knew he was the guy she was going to love forever and married him. To now only finding out he doesn't want kids!

Obviously it wasn't like love at first site. It took time and becoming best friends and then becoming lovers to becoming husband and wife. When they were only boyfriend and girlfriend, they actually did thought about having children but they wanted to save it till they were married. But for some reason Natsu is only saying this now!? Why!? She doesn't understand! Help her Natsu! Help her before it's too late!!!

Lucy just kept thinking and thinking and thinking. Natsu kept banging on the door to open up but she ignored him. Well most likely didn't hear it because she was too deep in her thoughts and heartbroken.

Half an hour later Lucy calmed down and wiped away her tears, still sitting down against the door. On the other side of the door was Natsu. He was sitting down against it too wondering and hoping if she will ever open up.

"Natsu...." She said quietly but loud enough for him to hear ever so faintly.

"Yeah...?"

"Why?... Why all of a sudden you say you don't want to have kids with me?"

After a few seconds of Natsu thinking he spoke. "I don't want to say... I'm just trying to protect you."

Lucy sighed as got up and started to unlock the bathroom door. Natsu heard her unlocking it and sat up looking at her as she opened it.

"I'm going to my father's. Till you're ready to tell me to reason why. I won't be here."

"What? No Lucy don't go."

Lucy didn't listen and just walked past him and walked down the stairs and to the door. "Cya later. Natsu." She said as she opened the door and shut it and went to her father's house that was a 30 minute walking distance away.

Natsu stood at the top of the stairs looking at the closed door knowing she wasn't bluffing. He looked down at his hand and to the ring of his finger to show he got married to Lucy. To show how much they love each other. "Lucy... you still love me... right?" He said to himself that was meant to be for Lucy.
