Chapter one

YOUR POV

Another day at work, I'm excited! I know, why would I be excited to be at work? Well, my best friend Ruby just got back from this long ass action. I mean, 5 days! It's a hella long time.

I'm so happy we both got accepted at Starbucks. We're both gonna have a break in a sec. She's already in the break room, I will be in 15 minutes.

It's not really crowded at the Starbucks. There's this one dude in the corner, doing, eeeeeeewwwww, he just picked his nose. Doing that, yikes.

Because it's not that crowded, we are allowed to put the music a little louder than usual. The great thing about that is that Ruby made the playlist that's playing everyday. There are a couple of Billie Eilish songs in there and I know exactly where they are. If I'm correct, "8" is gonna play exactly when I have my break in 14 minutes. It's at the very end of my break tho, so these song better hurry themselves up.

Time skip to your break

"RUBYYYYY" I scream as I run into her arms.

"Waddup slut!" she screams back at me.

"Dudeeee I hade THE worst 5 days without you."

"I knowww I'm so sorry I had to leave. Wish I didn't have to. Oh before I forget, I got you something. How long is your break?"

"Uhm like ten minutes?"

"Oh shoot we better hurry up then. Mine ends at the same time" she runs to her bag and takes a present out of it.

She hands me the present and I immediately see it's a jewel box. I take the lid off and see these big ass rings, exactly my style. "Oh Ruby... They're perfect!" I say and immediately give her the biggest hug.

"I know they are, I saw them and I thought of you. Try them on!" she says, excited.

I already have rings on both my ring fingers and index fingers, but I really wanted 2 for my middle fingers, because fuck everyone lol. As I put them on, I feel complete. They line up perfectly with my other rings and they fit me just right.

"You look hot girl." Ruby says.

"I know right."

Suddenly, I hear a song. I don't know this song, it wasn't in the playlist before.

"Ruby, did you mess with the playlist?" I ask, knowing I won't be able to jam to "8" if she did.

"I did." Ruby says. I sigh.

"God damnit Ruby, I'm gonna miss "8" now. We're both gonna be working now if it's playing. Oh my God I just realized our break's over is 1 minute." I roll my eyes.

"For fuck sakes. And of course our boss is already looking at us as if we need to go right now. Oh well, might as well." Ruby says.
We walk back together.

Time skip to, idk, somewhere later

Ruby just walked off, talking about how she has been needing to pee since the beginning of the day but just wouldn't go "because she didn't feel like it". She's so crazy, but such a great friend.
Since Ruby walked off, it's just me now. There is absolutely no one in this shithole. I'm very very bored. Because there's no one, you decide to sing a little. You start singing the lyrics to "Bored", because, do I really need to explain why?

And so I continue. When I'm in the middle of the second chorus, the bell suddenly rings, indicating that someone walked into Starbucks.

"I'm so sorry, no one was hear so I started singing for a sec. How can I help you?" I say, ashamed.

I take a good look at the girl. She's awfully pretty. She's wearing these baggy clothes and these bomb ass rings and necklaces. Her hair is black with green roots. She's wearing sunglasses, so you can't see her full eyes, but those lips are defiantly smash material. She looks like she's in a rush.

"Hi uhmm yes I'll take uhm.." she says, not knowing what to order.
"Actually you know what, this may be a very rude question but I'm kinda trying to run away from some people, is there somewhere where I can hide for a sec? It'll be just a sec. I'll pay if I have to." She says, looking over her shoulder.

"Yes of course. Follow me. No need to pay." I will bring her to our break room. She follows me and as I close the door, she hugs me. I hug her back.

After a while, I pull away. "You know what, you stay here and I'll make you a surprise drink. Anything I should know, like lactose intolerant?"

"Well I'm vegan so that may be a challenge" she says. I look at her. She looks back at me.

"No way, I'm vegan too! I know exactly what to make."

"That's great, thank you love." She says.

"No problem, what name shall I write on your cup?"

BILLIE POV

I don't think she recognises me. I'm very thankful for that. I don't want her to know my name, so I respond with "Claudia." My brother's girlfriend name. She smiles and nods. I watch her as I walk away. She looks gorgeous. The first thing I noticed where her eyes. I could swim in them forever. Her hair falls perfectly on her face. Her face is just, just, wow. The rest of her body is perfect. She's not a stick, which I like. A lot. I loathe overly skinny people. And she had these rings on her hands. Exactly my style.

I decide to make my self comfortable and chill for a bit in the couch. I take off my sunglasses and get my phone. I scroll a bit through Instagram as the girl who let me in comes back. I look at her and she looks back at me. For a second she stands still. Shit, she recognised me.
