Chapter four

YOUR POV

Fuck. It's my dad. Of course it is.

"Hello to you too, dad."

"Don't give me that tone. Who is this, girl, you brought with you?" he says.

"Dad, relax. She's a costumer. I spilled some coffee on her and brought her here to clean up."

"Don't you dare "relax" me. You know you are not allowed company. I want her out at once."

"But dad she-" "NOW!"

I feel tears burning behind my eyes. "Dad..." I start. Before you I it, I'm on the ground, feeling a burning pain on my cheek.

'He hit me..' I realize. I feel my cheek. There's blood. That damned wedding ring...

"That's enough dude, back the fuck off!" Claudia screams at my dad while pushing him away.

"Who do you think you are, you little slut!" My dad screams at Claudia. He comes closer to her, about to hit her. She ducks and my dad punches a hole in the wall.

"Get the hell out of my house, both of you! And Jacklyn, you are not welcome here anymore, ever! Your mother will throw all your stuff on the streets. You can collect it tomorrow." he says, as he walks away.

I've started crying. Claudia runs to me. She takes my hand and pulls me up, pulling me outside. She slams the door and as soon as we're outside, she pulls me in the best hug I ever had. I feel numb, not realizing what just happened. I start pulling away and Claudia let's me go. I look at her eyes, there are tears in them. Suddenly, I find the ability to speak again.

"I'm so-sorry. I did-din't know he-he was gon-gonna get this m-mad." I say, hyperventilating.

"Are you fucking kidding me?", Claudia says, "You have absolutely no right in apologizing love. Now please, breath."

I start crying even harder. Why is this girl so sweet for me? I look her in the eyes again and she immediately pulls me into a hug. It comforts me and my breath becomes regular again.

"C'mon, lets go to my place." she proposes. I nod in agreement and follow her to my car. I walk to the drivers seat.

"Oh baby there is no way in hell you're gonna drive in this state. I'll drive." Claudia says, escorting me to the front seat.

As soon as I get in, I turn up the radio. "when the party's over" starts playing and I instantly start crying. Claudia starts driving, asking me if I'm okay. I nod. "This song always tears me up." As much as I feel like dying right now, I still sing along.

After the first chorus, my tears take control over me. Claudia stops the car at the side of the road to hug me. All I can do is sit still and sob, pretty much. You hug through the entire song. When the song ends, "Bored" comes on.

"Well at least this song has better energy." Claudia jokes. I smile a little. "Heeeeyyyyy there's that pretty smile again!" Claudia says. "Hey, weren't you singing this when I walked in?" She suddenly asks.

I think back at the moment you first saw this girl. This beautiful girl, still sitting beside you after all that happened. "I was."

"Do it again. C'mon, I know it will make you feel better."

BILLIE POV

Of course it'll make her feel better. I wrote the fucking lyrics myself. It says

I hope she'll see she doesn't need her parents. Luckily, she agrees and start singing. I start driving again, it's kind of a far drive.

Again, I listen to every words she sings. It is so God damn beautiful. Hell, she knows the words to MY song better than I do.

The song ends and she stopped crying. She looks better.

"I'm so glad I still got my cd. This girl... she'll always makes me feel better. Her music calms me so much. I feel like she wrote them for me, you know. Like we connect, in some way. I bet she's hella pretty." she stops talking. I feel so flattered. I just smile at her and ask her to tell me more about, well, myself.

"Well, she has such a good energy. Ruby tells me she's like this whole big hype right now. Everybody knows her. And she deserves it! I mean, listen to this. Her voice is the prettiest ever. I would die to meet her in person, although I have no clue what she looks like." She just can't stop talking about me. I'm loving it all. If only she knew who she was talking to.

The whole ride we listen to my music. She knows it all. She loves it all. Now and then I "think I vaguely heard this song before". We're very close to my house now.

As we pull up to my house, she suddenly looks at me. No, she looks through me. Like she's reading me.

"You okay girl?" I ask.

"Wha- oh yes sorry, I just got lost in your eyes, that's all." she plays it cool. I blush a little.

"We're here." I say and get out of the car. She gets out of the car too. I take my keys and open the door.

"Billie, is that you?"
