As the town preps for Halloween, The crew is back together and is surprised to meet two new students from California. V
"You're crazy!" "So, I'm supposed to be hurt by that?" Lana's POV I sighed at I rolled out of bed for school quickly putting on a new outfit and tights to go along with the jean shorts, I was wearing. "Max, you better hurry before Billy leaves us!"I said as I knocked on her door, "I know I'm coming.". I ran outside to see Billy starting his car, I jumped in the back and started making small talk with Billy to make him wait, "So, do you like my outfit?" I say gesturing to my shorts and crop shirt also the sparkly tights I put on under. "You should change, it shows too much skin." He says as he turns up the volume for the radio. Max jumps in the front seat putting her skateboard in her lap as she closes the door.
We make it to school on time, surprisingly, I jump out of the backseat as soon as we park and when Max gets out. We leave Billy as he gets ogled at by girls, and make our way to the school. We try to find our first class with Mr. Clarke, but failed and had to ask a janitor for directions. We both ran to the door and entered the whole class turned and looked at us. "Oh! Dustin drum roll please, Welcome all the way from California Maxine and Lana!" He says enthusiastically, "It's Max. Nobody calls me Maxine." She says and stomps her way to a desk in the back, I follow and give Mr. Clarke a smile and put a sticker on his shirt while I pass by and sit at a desk in front of Max.
"Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen for six weeks we will be doing a group project over time travel and dimensions, So I'll let Max and Lana join Mike's group since they are new to this school ." He says gesturing to the boy with black hair who scowled at the thought of more people. Other students started to get up and get along with their groups so me and Max got up and sat behind them as they discussed what they should start on and where we should meet for the project. "How about we go to the library and find some books about time travel and dimensions?" I suggest shyly as I play with the sparkles on my tights, "Yeah that'll be a great ide- No we have enough books." Dustin starts but is cut off by Mike and before Max can open her mouth and curse at him the bell rings. "I can't believe we're in a group with a douchebag." She says as I try and calm her down, "Don't worry about it he might be having a bad day or year." I say as we get to our lockers, I put my books in the locker and Max grabs her skateboard as we have a break. I watch Max skate as I add notes in my notebook about what's happening, I turn around and see the stranger things crew and giggle at them trying to hide in plain sight when I can see them. Max skates over to me ripping a paper out of my notebook and writing something she gestures to me to follow her and I do as we walk up the steps to the door to get inside she tosses the paper in the trash.
