Chapter 6 : Not So Strange

Rohini and Arjun along with the team went for lunch in a fancy restaurant. They were all having fun. Rohini and Arjun became comfortable being friends. It was never a problem for Arjun. It was only Rohini's misunderstanding. She came to an understanding that he really is a friend of everyone and not just a team player act.

Rohini's phone blinked with this message which Arjun sitting nearby noticed. He looked at her shocked.

Rohini looked at her phone smiling at the message she just received. She turned down her phone just to see a shocked look of Arjun.

"You are her? Black magic?" he asked her in a lower tone not wanting the team to notice.

Rohini couldn't believe that he was the stranger guy she met online. He was the guy who has been flirting with her everyday. He was the stranger who made her happy everyday saying silly things.

They both got silent while the team was having fun. It was awkward. Rohini wanted to disappear out of the area instantly. She cursed why teleportation is just a fiction.

They went back to work after lunch. Working the rest of the day was very awkward. Every minute moved slowly like it was a decade. The awkwardness continued for few days at work. There were no text exchanges between GothamGuy_5390 and BlackMagic_666 for few days although they both missed talking to each other. It made no sense why was it easier talking to a stranger than to someone in real life.

Arjun decided to end this awkwardness so he called Rohini's number.

"Who is this?"
"It's me. You don't have my number saved?" Arjun asked with disbelief
"I didn't see it properly, I was sleeping. Sorry" she lied. She did not save his number.
"Oh sorry for waking you up. I guess I will call you later"
"OK" she didn't want to have this conversation
"No wait. I wanted to talk to you now. You don't have anything to say to me?"
"No"
"I'm going to sue you for tricking me into falling for you" said Arjun annoyed by her silence just to mess with her.
"What?"
"You heard me"
"I didn't do anything. It's you who blabbered things just to flirt with me. I should sue you for misconduct"
"No, it's your fault. I was in love with her I mean the person you pretended to be. You broke my heart"
"We both know you were not serious. Come on stop with your lying"
"I'm not. I'm going to tell everyone what you did to me" he said
"No please don't. What do you want me to do? I never did anything intentionally. It was an accident."
"I don't know. I'm just upset now. You owe me one, no questions"
"Why are you talking like it's all my fault? I owe you nothing"
"You sure? You are okay with me telling about this to everyone?"
"OK. I owe you one. Now stop calling me again"

Rohini again started thinking him as the monster he used to be. She worried what is he going to ask for. She regretted talking to strangers in the first place. She had no friends, it was her only means for human contact. She cursed God for putting her in a bad place like this.

Arjun felt disappointed at first. He didn't expect the stranger girl who he liked to be some uptight not so friendly coworker. But then he wondered maybe the not friendly behavior could be an act after all, to not let anyone know her real personality. It made him curious. He liked the stranger girl. Now that he knows who she is, he became intrigued to know more about her.
