Blythe's POV:
I walked into the animal shelter after school and after dropping off my little sister Ruby at the house. When I walked in I could already hear the sound of the different animals that were in the shelter. There were many different breeds of dogs and cats, but something else made this place special. They also carried three small pigs. One was your normal pink with it's white hair, the next was black with a small strip of white on it, the last one was a brown pig with brown hair. There were also two parrots who had been left because the owner of them had to be put in the hospital for her own health. I told her I'd personally make sure that they went to a good home with a loving owner. The last two animals were a tarantula and a snake. The snake was a yellow python who hadn't grown very big because he had been in captivity for so long. He seemed to like me the best out of everyone. The different dogs we had were a basset hound named Goober, two bulldogs Bella and Butch, a chihuaua named Cleo, a great dane named Timmy, and lastly a boxer named Trixie. The cats were a smaller collection but they still seemed to attract the customers. A bengal cat named Alistor, a ragdoll named Atlas, two siamese named Birch and Tina. The spider was named Jack, the snake named Samantha, the pigs were named Brownie, Oreo and Pixie. The parrots had been named Ben and Dean.
Walking into the shelter the animals immediately started making noise wanting me to come over to them. I walked over to the pigs and leaned over into their pin petting each of them before I filled up their food and water. After they had finished eating I sprayed some water on them so that they would keep cool. Mostly since pigs don't sweat at all. After the pigs I walked over to the parrots making sure to give them attention like the old women Mrs.Black would have wanted. I pet the birds under their feathers and filled their food and water while they sat on my shoulders talking away. As they talked I cleaned up their cage and fixed their swing and toys. After finishing that task I let them back in their cage to eat their breakfast. It took me awhile to finish taking care of all the animals and normally by the end of it I had some type of animal poop, feed, or water on me. It was just a normal day working here. I did make pretty good money so I couldn't complain.
While working I heard the bell on our door ding singling that someone had walked through the door curious about the pets. A female older than me seeming to be in her early twenties walked in. Her hair was white and kinda puffy like a cloud. I had never seen anything like her and for some odd reason I felt as if I had known her all my life. She wore jeans and a grey t-shirt with an interesting tattoo on her arm...kinda like mine. Except mine wasn't a tattoo it told others that I was part of the Diablo family and was a fire element vampire. This female also had blue eyes that somehow seemed to capture the sky in her eyes. A white bird had sat itself on her shoulder. I noticed it was a white cockatoo as white as her hair was. She walked over the place I was standing seeming to have a question pestering her mind.
"Hi" she said with a calming smile across her lips
"Hello, how can I help you?" I asked giving a small smile back as I seemed to study her bird before it flew over and landed on my head wrapping it's claws into my long red hair. Lucky for me I was used to Dean and Ben doing it.
"Oh, Benny don't get yourself all tangled up in this poor man's hair" She slightly scolded the bird as she went to grab him from my hair. Soon enough the bird was back on her shoulder and out of my hair literally. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"It's alright. He's a very beautiful bird" I commented
"As long as he isn't a bother to you" She told me with another smile "But I need some more food for this little rascal" she told me as Benny began to repeat the word rascal over and over again.
"Of course" I told her as I took her back and helped her get the food she needed later helping her check out her things as benny had picked up some toys and she couldn't say no to him actually saying please. Of course I couldn't help but smile at the bird begging.
"So what's your name and how come you are working here alone?" She asked as she looked at me
"Blythe and i'm only alone because my coworkers work while i'm at school so I work after for them to repay them" I responded
"Aww that's sweet" She smiled at me "I'm Ari" She told me before she began to walk out with her items saying that she should get going and feed Benny. As the day went on I kept thiking about how weird and familiar her tattoo seemed. Sure it was weird that the girl had sky like textures on her but the fact that her name was Ari and she had a bird just made it all seem more weird. I never thought the other elemental vampires would be so close....that is if she is one.
