[C/n]. She was all over your mind, clouding your memory. Even though there were three other people here with you, only [C/n] was in your thoughts.

It was dark outside the windows, on a cold Winter night. It was currently Winter Break, finally, a time where you could take a break from school. Your studies had taken their toll, and it was now time to unwind. Of course, your mind was still racing with thoughts, school or not. She was laughing with [F/1] over a video she had showed her. You wished it was you she was laughing with, not [F/1].

You sighed internally, turning back to your phone of memes to distract you. You smiled at a particularly funny meme, causing you to do the well-known nose exhale.

"Watcha looking at?" [C/n] said, suddenly materializing behind you. You jumped as she looked over your shoulder, instinctively turning off your phone. "Why'd you turn your phone off?" She half pouted-half smirked. You recognized that look, making you facepalm mentally, knowing where her mind was wandering off to. "It was a meme, you daft spider," you rolled your eyes.

[C/n] laughed at your abstract insult. "We're going to play Truth or Dare, wanna join?" She asked after a short second. "Truth or Dare? How basic. Why not Cards Against Humanity or something?" You responded. You were a person of internet culture, always on your phone using apps like Reddit.

"Yeah, well, I don't have Cards Against Humanity," she said. "Fine, I'll play," you replied after a short moment of thinking. "Great! Come sit with us."

You followed her to the rest of the group, and sat down beside her. You were starting to get a bit nervous of what people would ask you or make you do, but there was no backing out now.

"[F/1], truth or dare?" [F/2] asked first. [F/1] paused for a moment, before responding with dare. "I dare you to text me your biggest secret," [F/2] prompted. [F/1] smiled, wordlessly picking up her phone. [F/2]'s phone dinged with the notification from her text and she picked it up. "Haha, very funny. Too bad I don't have the sense of humour of a middle schooler," [F/2] rolled her eyes, voice sarcastic. "You did say to text you 'your biggest secret'," [F/1] laughed at her.

Next, it was [C/n]'s turn. You secretly prayed that she wouldn't pick you, but your prayers came unanswered. "[Y/n], truth or dare?" She asked, turning in your direction. "I pick truth," you replied. Knowing [C/n], she would pick the wildest dares you would never have the heart to do. "Hm. . ." She thought for a moment, obviously having only thought of a dare. "Do you like anybody?" She asked the first thing to come to mind. "Really?" You glared at her. "Yep! Now answer the question," she smiled almost sadistically. "Fineeee. . . Maybe I do," you said, not wanting to spill too much information. Especially to the one you actually did like.

Her face instantly lit up, her [C/e/c] eyes sparkling with interest. "Who?!" She exclaimed. "That's not part of the question, so I'm not telling you!" Your face lightly dusted with pink. Your other friends were interested as well.

"[Y/n], truth or dare?" [F/3] asked next, smirking. "Hey! I just answered!" You crossed your arms, turning your head away. "Too bad! Truth or dare?" [F/3] asked again. "Mhm, too bad [Y/n/n]!" [C/n] grinned annoyingly.

"Fine, dare," you sighed, exasperated. "I dare you to tell us who it is that you like," [F/3] said instantly. Of course they would ask that. Your friend group were like middle schoolers, always wanting to know everything. "No way!" You yelled, grabbing a marker off the floor to throw at her. "All right, fine. Then I dare you to text anybody a very heartfelt love letter," [F/3] gave up on prying information out of you.

You rolled your eyes for maybe the thirtieth time that night, and picked up your phone. You decided to text a guy from your Math class, and showed the text to [F/3]. From the corner of your eye, [C/n] looked disappointed. She probably wanted to know who I liked. Ha, too bad, you thought.

The game continued, and everybody miraculously decided to leave you alone about your secret. You sighed with immense relief that you wouldn't have to tell [C/n] about your feelings for her, let alone in front of your three other best friends on a sleepover. But she was still on your mind, and all you could do about it was look at her.

The round of Truth or Dare eventually finished, and you all moved on to do other sleepover things.

It soon got even darker, and it was time to figure out where everybody would be sleeping for the night. You didn't have plans to sleep anytime soon, but your friends probably couldn't last as long as you did on a daily. Instead, you prepared yourself for a night of scrolling on your phone, watching YouTube videos and looking at even more memes.

"I call sleeping by myself," [F/1] said quickly. "I can sleep with [F/2]," [F/3] said. Your heart dropped. That meant you would be sleeping with [C/n]. The butterflies you felt earlier in the day intensified tenfold at the news. "Then I'll go with [Y/n]," [C/n] announced. This was always a possibility, but you didn't think you would actually share a bed with [C/n] [C/l/n].

"You alright?" [C/n] asked you, with a slightly concerned look in her eyes. "Oh, yeah," you replied quickly. You must have zoned out. "Anyways. [F/1], you can take the couch if you're sleeping by yourself," she continued. "See ya guys," she yawned, and made her way to the couch in [C/n]'s living room.

"[F/2] and [F/3], you guys can go to my brother's room," she said. [C/n]'s brother had left for university last year, and his room was free for anybody to use. "Me and [Y/n] will sleep in my room," she said last. Oh. My. God. Your heart skipped a beat, your throat catching. Okay, no big deal. Yeah, you mentally freaked out.

Everybody dispersed, and you and [C/n] were left alone in her room. You felt the butterflies fluttering around in your stomach as she clambered into her bed. "You coming?" She asked. "Oh, uh. . . Yeah," you stuttered, slowly walking over to her bed. You lay down, phone in hand, as far away from her as you could.

She switched the LED lights to a serene blue. "You're not going to sleep?" She questioned when you turned on your phone. "I always go to sleep late," you calmed yourself. "Oh. Mind if I stayed up with you?" She asked in a soft voice. "Sure," you answered. Her quiet tone gave you chills, but you managed to control yourself.

She watched as you turned on your phone, observing as you scrolled through memes on Reddit. "Ha, that one's relatable," she pointed to a meme. "Hmm?" You scrolled back up to the one she was talking about. "What, this one?" You asked, confused. It was a meme about crushes. "Yeah," she confirmed with a nod.

"How's it relatable?" You incquired, feeling wings fluttering in your stomach once again. You worried for her answer, that she had a crush on someone other than you.

     "Cause of you."
