Chapter one ~ Hello Suburbs

"JOSEPH, would it kill you to take off that iPod and actually listen to what we say?"  Mom complained, I rolled my eyes and continued eating

"Just listen to what we say" Dad said, sighing

"There's not a single iPod that is loud enough to shut you guys out," I muttered

"Joseph," My mom shouted, I sighed "Joey," She sighed "We finally made time for you,"

"If only you made that time 3 years ago," I said coldly, yes I know I'm being mean, but my parents... yes, I saw them all the time, but, we never made family time, it started when dad got that promotion and we moved to the big house and everyone is busy with their own business,

Even at dinner they brought their laptops down to the table, even if I do drugs in front of them at that table, they wouldn't notice, and now, they decided that we need family time, so they took me out to lunch at this fancy restaurant

"Joey..." Dad sighed, why did he sigh? I'm the one who's miserable here. I rolled my eyes and took my iPod out

"happy?" I asked quietly

"Thank you Joey... listen... we have some news," Mom announced nervously "You know that your principal wanted to expel you, right?" I rolled my eyes, I'm guessing he finally come to the senses that I'm a bad seed to his school and I should just switch school, 

"I still can't believe you punched your teacher," Dad said, shaking his head.

"HE told me that I have no future and I'm just a piece of crap, that guy saw it coming" I said, punching the table, I don't have anger management issue, I just hate it when people tell me I have no future, that sentence lets out a side of me that is just horrible

"Well you are acting like you're going to have no future," Dad hissed, I clenched my fists

"Look, we believe in you son, it's just that you're so rebellious, that sometimes it's hard on us" Mom said sweetly

"Just tell me whatever's going on so we can get this over with" I said angrily, mom took a deep breath

"well, like I told you before, your principal want to expel you, but we begged him, and he told me that there's a solution, your school is going to have some students get-away this Christmas break, starting at December 20th until January 2nd" She said, I looked at her questioningly

"Your principal told us that this get-away will help student play with others, build team-work, get you guys closer and stuff,"

"So in order for you to stay at your current school, we have to sign you up for this trip," mom finished "It's only for 2 weeks sweetie, and you're gonna love it"

"YOU'RE KIDDING ME RIGHT?! I'd rather be expelled, 2 WEEKS At that.... where is this trip?" I asked them angrily

"The suburbs 3 hours from town" Mom said nervously, I glared at them and was about to speak when my dad cut me off
