The Ones Who Are Alone

Chapter 4

They both looked at the bodies, Some had wood sticking out of them, others were bloated probably from engulfing to much water and most likely had drowned.
Oliver then spotted a man, about in his late thirties wearing a white shirt and some baggy shorts, his chest slowly bobbing up and down.
He jumped from the boat and sprinted to the man.
Oliver shook him.
The man screamed in pain and he quickly turned over and there was a three inch long piece of wood sticking out of his back.
He murmured with the sound of pain in his voice "pull it out, please, pull it out".
Oliver put his hands on the piece of wood and pulled!
The man screamed in pain and he clutched his wound.
Blood ran through his fingers.
Oliver looked at the wood in his hand it was now four inches long because of the extra inch was in the mans back.
"Greg this man is injured" Oliver called out
Greg ran past some bodies then he felt something grab his ankle he looked down, it was a women with dark flowing hear, she was wearing a black dress.
"Help me..." She then coughed up water
Greg grabbed her hand off his ankle and helped her up.
He put her arm over the back of his neck and helped her walk to the boat.
Oliver was putting pressure on the mans wound to try and stop it bleeding, the man screamed again.
Everything near the wound was a dark red even the sand was stained that dreaded colour.
The man then started to shack violently and white foam was coming out of his mouth followed by vomit, then it stopped. Everything seemed to have stopped, slowed down, everything In slow motion, Oliver looked at the man, his face expressionless, his hand cold to the touch and the dark red blood that stained Oliver's hands, his eyes closed and the memory came in scenes like in a movie.
First the man, then the wood, third the dark red blood, fourth the scream and lastly the man shacking and dead.
