For as long as I can remember I was in love with the way the world works and all the creatures that roamed it, My dream was to find out more but Mother said that it was materialistic and people of 'our' type don't get things like that.
At night after all the candles were out and the fireplace only had a dim glow I would light a small candle and reads through the books and old paper articles of John and Lily Dolittle, their work amazed me and I would smile as I could feel the breeze of the pacific ocean run against my face and the sleek grass brush against my legs just thinking of the elegant landscapes brought me comfort but of course, when the candles burnt out and my reality snapped back to me it all faded away into the pages, a few years after I had started an education and started to have a life of my own it was everywhere and all over the newspaper titles.
Lily Dolittle was dead, died at sea never to return to us, the world around me shattered and I knew John's was too.
He stopped being the bright man he used to be, throughout his whole life he had been such an amazing man to the point where the queen of England gave him his own land where any animal was welcome with the knowledge of safety and security. Dolittle had another amazing talent besides his discoveries with Lily, He could communicate with animals, he understood their every word but to a girl like me, it was only a silly dream to become someone like him.
/10 Years Later/
Beautiful days like these I wish they would last forever nothing beats the feeling of the fresh mountain spring water flowing between your toes and the soft sunbeams hitting your cheeks, the thin pages of my journal flickered slightly with the warm breeze which blew my way. I was currently working on a new study of a water plant which I had never seemed before, I sat and drew all day while making small notes here and there watching life pass me by, I was humming a small tune and smiled at my work before pulling my feet out the water and back onto the bank and placed the book into my old satchel, as I stood up a delightful little creature flew upon my jacket which was hung on a small branch. I watched in awe trying to grab my book again the write a brief description but I was too slow as I grabbed my pencil it flew to a branch not too far away, maybe I could follow it?
I slowly put my jacket on and followed the feeble creature into the deeper woods where everything got darker and way more dense than before the contrast was truly magnificent, and then finally I saw it the small creature was still and I could get some notes down.
-small, butterfly-like
- Wings thin like paper
- primary colors
- not really seen around these parts usually
I was truly amazed but the glooming feeling of the deeper woods frightened me slightly, such a childish fear I know, I had to examine my surroundings I seemed to follow the creature into a part of the woods I have never been to before so I'm kinda.....Lost. My breaths became a little shorter at the thought of being alone here at night but I knew remaining calm was my main objective, I had to think, I had to remain cal-
"Follow Polly"
I jumped and lost all concentration of feeling calm but was more confused than I was a few minutes ago, a stunning Macaw sat peacefully on a high branch too far for me to properly see.
"Follow Polly" she yapped flying only a few feet away gliding close to the ground and of course I did I was always up for an adventure so off I got barefoot and started to get cold following an exotic Macaw into the deep woods late in the evening, I felt this was a mistake after five minutes of chasing a bird but it was worth it at the end as the Bird was sat up against a big iron gate which stated.
