The door slammed against the wall. The loud crash rang in my ears for a moment. The burning headache created tears in my eyes. I began to sob. His large hands reminded me of paws. My heart thumped fast in my chest. I clawed at his wrists, but it had no effect as he threw me onto the floor.

The kitchen tile already wet from the booze he had thrown down only moments before. Glass dug into my palms as I pushed myself up. My eyes burned from the tears flowing from my eyes. The words he said only sounded like growls to me.  I couldn't hear anything he said from my racing heart.

Bruised and beaten I was ready to run, but only I froze. His eyes went from brown to yellow in my mind. His teeth turned sharp like fangs and I grew afraid. I couldn't run from him as I had only a few days ago. With nowhere to go, I had to stay.

I cowered in the corner as he began to yell. He towered over me. The room was large, but I felt trapped in the smallest area. No escape. With a quick slap to my face and head, I was again forced to the ground. I was done. I wanted to just run away as far as possible, but I couldn't. Everything tethered me here. Here in this hell. The place where the big bad wolf of my life lived.
