"Love all, first serve" the player announced, throwing the ball in air and serving it to her opponent.

From the other side of the fence, a young woman and her son sat on the metal bleachers. The woman had dark brown hair (which could be mistaken for black from far away) tamed into a messy braid. Freckles were sprinkled across her nose and cheeks paired with black framed glasses that sat on the bridge of her nose. She wore a soft yellow cotton shirt and ocean blue jeans.

Her son (two and a half years) donned almost the same attire. His button nose and jet black hair made him seem like not the woman's child if it weren't for the big, hazel eyes they shared.

They were both enveloped in the tennis match that was playing on the other side of the fence, not a screen in sight. She embraced her child in her lap and pointed the green ball soaring in the air to the next player. She was too intrigued by the outcomes of the game to see a familiar friend approach from behind.

"Marie?"

She turned around and gasped. Standing before her was a man she had not seen in a long time. His once receding black hair now had numerous grey strands slicked back. His skin remained the same, a light chocolate brown. His brown eyes twinkled behind his rectangular wire frames.

"Oh my God," she turned around fully, revealing to the man that she had a child in her lap. "Oh my God!" His eyes fixed on the baby now, fascinated by the resemblance.

"I know" she cried, setting the small child down on the bleachers and jumping down to embrace the man. Tears formed at the corners of their eyes.

"Mr. Romero, I missed you" she pulled away from the hug with a smile, "it's been so long!"

"Apperently!" He laughed, motioning to the baby that sat on the bleachers. Marie laughed with him, "yeah," she scooped the boy into her arms, "his name is Tony"

Mr. Romero looked at her. Mr. Antonio* Romero looked at her. "You- You named him after..." she nodded, and Mr. Romero wiped his tears of joy away from his face.

"Oh... so who's the father?"

"He's over there" she pointed to a man that was standing near the fence, catching up with an old grade school friend.

"He looks familiar" Mr. Romero adds. Marie's husband had jet black hair and a button nose. His slanting, brown eyes had made him look Japanese, but his smile made him look 100% Filipino.

"Christian!" She called, warranting the man to look over and smile. He excused himself from the conversation and trotted over.

"Oh, I remember you" the teacher said as Christian came within earshot, "you were the one who-"

"Asked her out in front of you" he chuckled, ruffling Tony's hair.

"Wow, I- you're so-

Grown up"
